Critically acclaimed storytelling folk-rock band Tam Lin released a new single today entitled “Flame Within the Sun” off their upcoming album Medicine for a Ghost. Fronted by New York City native Paul Weinfield, Tam Lin has been praised by Time Out New York as “mellifluous” and like “listening to Jeff Buckley and/or falling in love”. Medicine for a Ghost is Tam Lin’s fifth album and is set to release November 11, 2013.

“Flame Within the Sun” features an intricate arrangement of harmoniums, synthesizers and viola da gamba to create a Middle Eastern sound. Weinfield elaborates on the origins of the track: “I wrote this song back in 2008. It came out of a dream I had, and also out of my life and heart at that time. I was wondering then about how people make love last. How does one changing person keep another changing person in his heart for all eternity? I had this idea that maybe the little flames of all our loves are like the little fires that burn inside our great and giant sun.”
