Jessica Morhall

Skope: Does the warm summer weather make you feel more inspired to create music?
Jessica: I think I’m more creative in winter. Summer in Australia means countless days at the beach and out in the sun. It’s an effort to stay inside and write music. I do however love all the gigs and parties over the summer season, so I make sure I’m feeding my soul with lots of inspiration ready for winter.

Skope: How much did your family & friends influence your love for music growing up?
Jessica: Mum and Dad influenced me greatly – Dad was always listening to Crowded House and The Beatles. Mum played music in the house every morning, and was the one who pushed me to learn the piano. Dad owns about 4 guitars, and plays nearly everyday, so I was constantly surrounded by music growing up.

Skope: What are you currently promoting the most via an album, tour, single etc?
Jessica: I released my debut EP in March this year, so I’m doing lots of promo to get it out there and get it heard.

Skope: What music based goal are you most proud of that you accomplished?
Jessica: Definitely recording an EP. They are my very own songs, and having people come in to help me record them was very challenging. Not only letting people in, but having the whole project be about what I wanted. At times it felt selfish, but then working with other people was fantastic, and sharing the experience was hugely positive for me.

Skope: Do you have any new Youtube video or Soundcloud single posted online we should hear?
Jessica: My entire EP is available to stream at https://soundcloud.com/jessmorhall
and all the songs are on Youtube also at http://www.youtube.com/jmorhall4

Skope: What is coming up for you & where you at online?
Jessica:I’m just doing a few gigs around Perth, WA and working on being more creative in my writing. Working also on a website makeover, so that should be happening within the month.

Skope: Does the warm summer weather make you feel more inspired to create music?
Dan Buddah: I mean it definitely adds summer vibes but as far as more inspired probably not. I like to keep inspiration at a peak all times of the year. I do seek inspiration from most things so sure summer can be inspiring.
Phive: Mother Earth in general inspires my music creativity. While everyone is out doing what they love enjoying the weather during the summer, it actually drives me into the A/C to work; PhiveAteFive Studioz. But since I am in Florida, soaking up the sun and having a good time is key while traveling and filming. The good times definitely fuel creativity.

Skope: How much did your family & friends influence your love for music growing up?
Dan Buddah: Not so much, only a few friends were into music like I was, all the different aspects and what not. We jammed the good stuff and, you know, would always freestyle. How cliché right? I was always into my own stuff rather then the common mainstream, never understood where the passion was in these radio hits.
Phive: Family has always backed me on any of my ambitions and believed in me. I couldn’t be more grateful. But a huge influence on me growing up was the Latin basement music at my Grandparents’ house parties. Seemed like the music made everyone that much closer. My friends are family as well, and both friends and family are a huge influence in my love for music.

Skope: What are you currently promoting the most via an album, tour, single etc?
Dan Buddah: Our main focus right now is having ‘MediCated MediTations’ , my debut project, produced and engineered by Phive (of GodBody) out of PhiveAteFive Studioz, by September 5th of this year.
Phive: My primary focus is what Buddah has discussed already, MediCated MediTations. But currently, SidVicious is to drop with a video. The first actual drop of PhiveGod EP, which is set to drop in due time. The EP will be mainly instrumentals, few songs with lyrics. But I must say Dan Buddah is the only featured artist other than myself.

Skope: What music based goal are you most proud of that you accomplished?
Dan Buddah: I’m most proud of co-constructing a movement of life with the founder of the idea. We began and are building this foundation and only progressing with each day. I’m proud to have reached where I’m at, even though its only the first steps of this giant ladder.
Phive: So far, I’d have to say connecting with an artist like Dan Buddah. We have so much to look forward to as of accomplishments and goals. MediCated MediTations being one of the goals.

Skope: Do you have any new YouTube video or SoundCloud single posted online we should hear?
We have our music up on the PhiveAteFive Studioz SoundCloud: http://soundcloud.com/phiveatefive. We plan on releasing a few more tracks before MediCated MediTations and PhiveGod EP so stay tuned.
Also, check out Dan Buddah’s Full Moon Freestyle via http://www.youtube.com/godbodymuzikgroup. We have plenty new film projects coming up as well.

Skope: What is coming up for you & where you at online?
You can always find us on http://PhiveAteFive.com, home of GodBody, and official site for PhiveAteFive Studioz. Look out for MediCated MediTations due September 5th. PhiveGod EP will drop some time after MediCated MediTations. Music videos soon to hit YouTube, all in house direction/production with GodBody. Merchandise will soon surface. Many plans as to what items we will be having available.

Janet Robin

Skope: Does the warm summer weather make you feel more inspired to create music?
Janet: Any weather actually works for me.. although there’s nothing like a dark, rainy night outside, a glass of wine, and my guitar… :)

Skope: How much did your family & friends influence your love for music growing up?
Janet: My brother really influenced me quite a bit – playing his records in his room next door to me.. Nonstop Zeppelin and tons of great classic rock. My parents weren’t big music fans but they always loved going to any kind of entertainment type of show and encouraged me a lot as a young girl to perform with my guitar or with bands.

Skope: What are you currently promoting the most via an album, tour, single etc?
Janet: Right now, I’m in Europe on a 4 week tour. I’m promoting my “Live in France” cd that was recorded with my French band last year. I’m also still promoting my last studio effort, “Everything has Changed” which was produced by John Carter Cash, Johnny and June’s son.

Skope: What music based goal are you most proud of that you accomplished?
Janet: Well first of all, it’s just the fact that I am actually making a living as a full-time musician! However, that might not have been the answer you were looking for so…at the risk of sounding too cliche, I was really proud that I actually played an arena.. I mean large arena’s.. that was an amazing experience for me. It was back in the 90’s when I was touring as a guitar player for Lindsey Buckingham’s solo band, and we were opening for Tina Turner. Incredible experience to play to that many people in one venue.
#2 would be getting to finally tour (with my own project) in Europe. That took me years to get going, and now finally, I come out to Europe every year.

Skope: Do you have any new Youtube video or Soundcloud single posted online we should hear?
Janet: Well you can check out the new song “Goodnight my Love” which is from the “Live from France” cd.:
http://youtu.be/KcGBjSlPQXI

Skope: What is coming up for you & where you at online?
Janet: As mentioned above, I’m currently on tour in Europe until Sept. 16th. Then I will return home to produce a few other artists at my home studio as well as demo out a few of my new songs. I hit the road again in Oct to Texas, Nov on the East Coast and lot’s more dates in 2014.

Skope: Does the warm summer weather make you feel more inspired to create music?
I’m actually a fall and winter lady.   I feel opposite to most in that I sort of hibernate in the summer, get all the nitty gritty work done. When the leaves start to turn is when I really come alive and write a ton. Although this summer I’ve been writing a lot. Maybe it’s because Nashville has been inspiring me this year more than ever.

Skope: How much did your family & friends influence your love for music growing up?
So very much! My Dad is an incredible musician, almost became a music teacher in fact, so music is in my blood. My Dad wrote a song for me while my mother was pregnant with me called “Anna’s Song” that he still plays for me from time to time. And of course, growing up, there were always records blasting, Elton John, The Beatles, Janis Joplin, Pink Floyd, Joni Mitchell, Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross, Classical, Bluegrass, Celtic…you name it. Music is such a large part of my family, so when I began writing, I’m sure it came as no surprise. Sometimes I’d be downstairs on the piano writing a song at 2am, and my parents never complained. I always felt completely free to create, never inhibited, and for that I’m forever grateful to them.

My friends have also played a huge role. My best friends/sisters from other misters, Mary Beth and Ruby, who are each about six years older than me, have inspired me to no end. I’ve watched Ruby push her way through the music industry, overcoming all obstacles to share her voice and music with the world. And Mary Beth has dragged me far and wide taking me to concerts and music festivals for years. Music ties us all together. It’s a powerful force.

Skope: What are you currently promoting the most via an album, tour, single etc?
I’m about to release a new single that I’m stoked about, Damn Right, accompanied by a super fun music video directed by Montana Walker!

Skope: What music based goal are you most proud of that you accomplished?
I’m really proud of by debut album, Crazy Is. A lot of incredible people contributed their talent and heart to the record, and it turned into something really beautiful that I’ll always have to give.

Skope: Do you have any new Youtube video or Soundcloud single posted online we should hear?
I recently released a music video for my song Find Your Home, incorporating found footage of my grandparents in New York City spanning 7 decades. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5eKo-sVd4mc

Skope: What is coming up for you & where you at online?
I’m also about to head back into the studio to track a 5 song EP with a producer I’ve been excited about for years! And I’ve got a small tour coming up this fall. Keep a look out!

TERIBALANAMAL

Skope: Does the warm summer weather make you feel more inspired to create music?
Yes definitely! Summertime in NYC is a hotbed of creative energy. There are lots of gigs and bands coming through over the summer, so we get to see more shows, which is especially inspiring. We want to plug into that energy!

Skope: How much did your family & friends influence your love for music growing up?
For me (Ryan), my older sister was into punk rock and ‘progressive’ music, so that kind of steered me in that direction. My brother had a guitar, so I started playing that, which inspired me to buy a bass guitar later on. I’ve definitely bonded with friends over a mutual love of music and have discovered some of my favorite bands through friends, so that is important as well.

Skope: What are you currently promoting the most via an album, tour, single etc?
We released our debut 6-song EP, Anamala, a few months ago – it’s on iTunes, CDbaby.com and Spotify – we are promoting that the best we can. We’re also playing as many shows as possible.

Skope: What music based goal are you most proud of that you accomplished?
Just forming a band and practicing regularly has been a big accomplishment. It’s hard to find people who you connect with musically, so we are stoked to be doing this together. Recording and releasing the EP was also a milestone for us.

Skope: Do you have any new Youtube video or Soundcloud single posted online we should hear?
Yes, new mixes of two songs from our EP are on Soundcloud at:
https://soundcloud.com/teribalanamal/mourning-dove-remix3-master
https://soundcloud.com/teribalanamal/turkey-jive-mix

Skope: What is coming up for you & where you at online?
We hope to make an album soon-ish – we have a lot of new songs we have been working on and want to record.   We are also working on a video and may do some more remixes as well. If we can get it together, we would love to do some small tours.

Skope: Does the warm summer weather make you feel more inspired to create music?
The warm weather makes me feel inspired to go out and share my music. I notice that I write most of my songs during the winter months by my fireplace and I get out and share what I have created all through the summer.

Skope: How much did your family & friends influence your love for music growing up?
I come from a family with a strong musical background on both my mother and father’s side. My grandmother on my mother’s side is a famous jazz singer from Sri Lanka. My mother was a singer as well, in her youth. She always encouraged music through her love of singing around the house as I grew up. I have always had an eclectic taste for music. I was exposed to many styles growing up as a multiculteral child and through my travels living abroad as a military brat.

Skope: What are you currently promoting the most via an album, tour, single etc?
I am currently promoting my single Cool Kid in preparation of my album to be released in December. We are currently in production of a music video for the single and are constantly updating the website with YouTube vidoes, new music and events

Skope: What music based goal are you most proud of that you accomplished?
I am so proud of the release of my EP. It has been a long time coming and as an independant, self funded artist I am proud of the many hats I have worn to create a product I am excited to share with my fans.

Skope: Do you have any new Youtube video or Soundcloud single posted online we should hear?
I have my new single Cool Kid posted on Soundcloud along with other songs from my EP.

Skope: What is coming up for you & where you at online?
Coming up is the release of my album and a music video for Cool Kid and then I’m hitting the road ;) – http://rebeccajimenez.com

Skope: Does the warm summer weather make you feel more inspired to create music?
We prefer fall and winter because summer in Taiwan means hot and humid all day long and there is more gig and festival during summer, so we need to spend more time on rehearsal and live shows.

Skope: How much did your family & friends influence your love for music growing up?
Our high school friends really influenced us quite a bit —   we listen to classic rock music and practice together. Our parents listen to classical, traditional Taiwanese music, folk, which might influence our love for music when we were young.

Skope: What are you currently promoting the most via an album, tour, single etc?
We released my debut EP “Ancient Mark” in July this year, so we’re doing lots of promo to get it heard worldwide.

Skope: What music based goal are you most proud of that you accomplished?
We were selected by a band sponsorship program provided by the Taiwan’s Ministry of Culture, which means we got $10000 budget for our debut album recording. We were also selected by “The Next Big Thing” hosted by Streetvoice.

Skope: Do you have any new Youtube video or Soundcloud single posted online we should hear?

Lauren Elise Band

Skope: Does the warm summer weather make you feel more inspired to create music?
Weather truly does affect my level of creativity and it inspires me a great deal. But actually, I prefer a rainy day above all. I feel that it is when I am most inspired.   I break out my guitar and a notepad and let the rhythm of the raindrops help me tap out a tune! It is very conducive in helping me find that inner place where my lyrics are born.

Skope: How much did your family and friends influence your music growing up?
This is always one of my favorite questions to answer. I grew up in a house of country music enthusiasts. My mom would tell my sisters their chores for the day, and crank up Shania Twain’s Best Hits CD for inspiration. As I’m constantly reminded, every time “Man I Feel Like a Woman” came on, I’d run into the room and dance like nobody’s business commanding attention! I guess you could say I was a pretty excited country music baby. To this day, I can’t help but smile when that song comes on. This was my introduction to country music. I truly have my mom to thank for my whole career. She was and is my inspiration. She influenced me back then,   and continues to be my rock.   My friends and family continue to influence me to work hard and reach for my dreams. They encourage me daily to keep on going!

Skope: What are you currently promoting the most via an album, tour, single, etc?
Currently, my first single “Lonely Alone” is at the forefront of my mind. It debuted during CMA Fest 2013 and has received airtime on country music radio station’s local to my area, as well as Iheart Radio allowing it to reach fans across the country. My   fans and friends are responding really well to my new found sound, and the process of me discovering myself. Through the album I’m currently working on, I’ve really been able to fine-tune who I want to be as an artist, and who I want to be as a person. Music is my blood and soul.

Skope: What music based goal are you most proud of that you’ve accomplished?
In June I accomplished something that I never dreamed I could and it is something I will never forget. Over the summer I was nominated to sing with one of my country music idols, Sara Evans. Sara, her fans, and her team all voted on who they wanted to win the opportunity to sing with Sara on stage!   I was chosen, and that alone   felt like a huge accomplishment to me. It meant I stood out and made an impression on not only, Sara and her team, but her thousands of fans that voted for me. But hold your horses, back stage, Sara said to me “Alright Lauren. I’m pretty tired… So, I’m gonna let you sing the whole song, yourself, and I’ll just sing harmony. Okay?” Wow! With a smile on my face and my boots shaking, I agreed. Who am I to disagree with the queen? I just love her! So, what I would have to call my greatest accomplishment would be the clear mind I had on stage with her. I didn’t feel overwhelmingly nervous, and I didn’t mess up the lyrics (thank goodness).   She was amazing and it was a moment that I will never forget!

Skope: Do you have any new Youtube video or Soundcloud single posted we should hear?
You can enjoy my   new single “Lonely Alone” on Soundcloud at https://soundcloud.com/lauren-elise-1. You can also hear my next single to be released in November, “A Little Rain” on my youtube channel, as a live performance in Nashville, TN.   I regularly post new videos and performances on my   Soundcloud, Facebook, Twitter and Youtube.

Skope: What is coming up for you & where you at online?
Upcoming I have a number of appearances around my hometown of Jacksonville, Florida. We decided to concentrate close to home for fall 2013 before I begin a new phase of my journey, relocating to Nashville.   As we draw closer to the holidays, I will be returning to Nashville for shows, writing sessions and will head in studio to complete my next single release.   Then in December,   off to Minnesota for appearances.   You can locate me online at LaurenEliseMusic.com, Facebook.com/LaurenEliseMusic,   Twitter.com/LaurenEMusic and as of September 17th, my single “Lonely Alone” will available on Itunes, Spotify, Google Play, Amazon MP3, IHeart Radio, as well as a variety of other retail sites.

Skope: Does the warm summer weather make you feel more inspired to create music?      Warm summer weather tempts me more to go outside and play, rather than stay inside to practice my craft. Though, practicing my craft & written songs are an entirely different experience from the inspiration to write. The inspiration to write is more like an old pushy friend with keys to your apartment. He just sort of shows up whenever he wants and won’t leave until he is good & ready. That calling from within can show up at midnight in the dead of winter or just as I am about to leave the house for some summer fun! It usually doesn’t consider MY plans at all :)

Skope: How much did your family & friends influence your love for music growing up? Growing up during the 80’s, I had a big sister, Toni, who thought it was the 60’s :) I was very young and she was a God to me…..while everyone else was listening to teeny bob, freestyle and hair bands, I was exposed to artists like Cat Stevens, Neil Young and Fleetwood Mac. I would torture her to play her guitar and sing for me and just watch, mesmerized.   She bought me my first little guitar as a child – but I didn’t get serious about playing until I heard Janis Joplin sing the chorus to “Piece of My Heart” on a music commercial when I was a teenager. Thats when I was truly moved to play – and I met so many awesome people and made the best of friends in that local scene. I met the producer & musicians I am working with today back then. Their talent continues to inspire me. Thanksgiving at my house is awesome, because at the end of the night me and Toni jam to the classics, and a bunch of my friends, old and new, show up to join in. Rock and Roll is a holiday tradition in our home :)

Skope: What are you currently promoting the most via an album, tour, single etc? Definitely an album for now, and a tour may be in the works.

Skope: What music based goal are you most proud of that you accomplished?
This album! It is my first full length – and my first attempt of launching something solo. I didn’t have the luxury of just writing these songs by observing the way other people lived. I lived every word of this album, and I had to get through some incredibly difficult times……so seeing it all come together like this is a tremendous accomplishment for me.

Skope: Do you have any new Youtube video or Soundcloud single posted online we should hear?
Yes. Some rough mixes are up on soundcloud – which can also be heard on the website and facebook page.

Skope: What is coming up for you & where you at online?
The album release date is scheduled for October 31st, 2013 and it will be purchasable on iTunes and also in hard copy via CDBaby. It is currently under the care of my good friend and producer, Jerry Farley, in it’s final mix & mastering stage. My website address is www.ChristinaRubino.com, and you can follow me on Facebook too – http://Facebook.com/ChristinaRubinoMusic.
