Eau Claire, WI natives The Daredevil Christopher Wright have partnered up with Consequence of Sound to premiere the video for their song “I & Thou” off their critically-acclaimed 2012 release, The Nature of Things. The video was directed by Grandson and Son and was shot at the Contemporary Zoological Conservatory in Toronto. Of the song, Jon Sunde says, “‘I & Thou’ draws on images and concepts that stuck with me from a philosophy course I took in college. Primarily from Plato’s cave metaphor and Martin Buber’s book, I & Thou, from which the song takes its name. The common thread between the two works, to me, is that search for connection and a deeper truth that perhaps is shrouded by the superficial way of seeing things that our busy lives often encourage and, at times, necessitate.” He goes on, “I enjoy thinking about this stuff and reading people who are much wiser than I address these issues. I also love that although I am far from completely understanding either Plato or Buber’s work, that the bits that stick with me are beautiful and fire my imagination. That gets me excited, so I wrote a song.”
