25 year-old Malaysian singer-songwriter Zee Avi just released a new video for her song “The Book of Morris Johnson” from her upcoming sophomore album ghostbird. This is the first video released from ghostbird, which is due out August 23rd on Brushfire and Monotone Records. Zee will be supporting the release with select tour dates, kicking off at Maxwell’s in Hoboken, NJ and concluding at Los Angeles’ El Rey Theatre.

With a voice beyond her years, ukulele wielding Avi will be joined by a three-piece band during her 15-date tour. For the first time Avi will bring out the soothingly beautiful Malaysian Sape, a unique string instrument indigenous to her hometown of Borneo. Avi is itching to get back on tour and show off her live skills and perform her new songs.
