Giorgia Fumanti Releases New Duet “I Have A Dream” With South African Singer Selim Kagee

Giorgia Fumanti has teamed up with South African classical-pop artist Selim Kagee for a soaring duet “I Have A Dream.” The song is both inspirational and hopeful in its message to humanity.

Conjuring some of Martin Luther King’s own optimism from his famous “I Have A Dream” speech, the song expresses a desire for peace and love across the globe. The song is accompanied by a beautifully shot video, with Fumanti and Selim appearing in gorgeous, pristine nature settings.

Born in the medieval village of Fivizzano in Tuscany and raised in Aulla and Monterosso, Giorgia Fumanti studied voice at the prestigious Conservatorio di Musica Arrigo Boito in Parma. Her talent caught the ear of the record industry, and so she relocated to Montreal in 2002, where she signed a record deal with ISBA and released her debut album Like a Dream. She then went international in 2007 with From My Heart, issued through Manhattan/EMI.

In the ensuing two decades, she’s made a total of 13 albums, netting 25 million lifetime streams, and racking up worldwide sales of over 1.5 million. She’s performed with the world’s top orchestras in some of the most famous venues, from London’s Royal Albert Hall and Greece’s Athens Arena to New York’s Times Square and China’s Beijing Olympics. She’s shared the stage with musical heavyweights such as Michael Bolton, Jose Carreras, Lang Lang and Justin Hayward of the Moody Blues—not to mention regional sensations like France’s Alain Barriere and Greece’s Mario Frangoulis, as well as Italian superstars Zucchero, Lucio Dalla, Albano and Gino Paoli. Along the way, she recorded a duet of “Nessun Dorma” with Luciano Pavarotti, and even had the honor of meeting with Pope Francis at the Vatican.

Selim Kagee is renowned for his captivating voice, which blends warmth, texture, and an old-world charm. His musical journey began after years of dedicated classical voice training, leading him to star in iconic musicals such as The Sound of Music, Annie Get Your Gun, and The King and I. In 2012, he signed a record deal with EMI Music, and his debut album Cry For Love showcased his remarkable talent and garnered attention both locally and internationally.

Kagee regularly enchants audiences with his live concerts in South Africa and aboard luxurious cruise liners around the world. His performances are characterized by his soulful voice and emotional depth, effortlessly resonating with listeners worldwide.
