Considered one of the biggest rock bands of all time, Limp Bizkit, announced today they will blaze a trail across the U.S. this summer in their first major concert tour in more than nine years. The band’s original powerhouse line-up of Fred Durst, Wes Borland, Sam Rivers, John Otto, and DJ Lethal are also prepping a new album entitled Gold Cobra to be released later this year.
The US tour comes on the heels of recent appearances dominating major European Festivals like “Rock am Ring” in Germany performing to 100,000 plus fans. In the past two weeks, the band has headlined several major radio Festival concerts, including Houston’s “BuzzFest” which sold out their 15,000+ capacity in 11 minutes and saw a total fan frenzy erupt at the show. Limp Bizkit will also headline several U.S. festivals this summer including Columbus, Ohio’s “Rock On the Range” festival. The Gold Cobra Tour kicks off in the New York/New Jersey market at PNC Bank Arts Center July 3rd and continues with 30+ headline shows in the U.S. this summer. The tour will feature very special guest and support act Snoop Dogg, a multi-platinum, Gramy-nominated artist who has become a pop culture icon for his unique music and style. This U.S. leg of the tour will be followed by a European run of more than 40 headlining shows.
The band also released a sneak preview of the forthcoming Gold Cobra album on their website www.limpbizkit.com. The fan response overwhelmed the band, crushing the website server and garnering more than 50,000 listens in the first few hours.
