I then went to the pub and had some of the best ribs I’ve eaten from the Staplow Oak Inn and it was quite fun to make. So basically fancying someone is a sickness which you can either cure or it can make you worse – in my case I never recovered.”

VALLETTA the project featuring current and former members of MO’YNOQ, LORD ALMIGHTY, BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME and PRAYER FOR CLEANSING have released their new single “Criminal”. The track is taken from their upcoming album Come Alive which will be released on July 14, 2023.

Jasmine Thakral: British-Indian musician’s horror-inspired indie pop single “Vampire” warns of energy vampires
Of the song, British-Indian Jasmine Thakral says:
“‘Vampire’ is a song about when you meet someone who’s an ‘energy vampire’ and drains you of all your energy. It’s an indie pop tune with horror movie lyrics. It’s set during my year abroad in Canada. Sonically I was inspired by indie pop songs by artists like BENEE, Remi Wolf and Still Woozy. I think it’s fun to have an upbeat production that contrasts with more downbeat lyrics. I had a great time collaborating on the song with Natti and Jack – who are both from a band I love called Fickle Friends.”

JONO MANSON keeps it “On the Downlow” with his new video (shot on location in Italy)
“The melancholy of isolation can be both sad and beautiful, all at the same time,” Manson says of the inspiration behind the song. “At the very start of the pandemic, I flew home from Italy, which was then the global epicenter, after my tour there was cut short, and found myself in quarantine for 14 days, cut off from my loved ones. This song was born during that time and of that experience, though I did not record it until quite some time later. As the chord changes and melody initially took shape, the song began to remind me a lot of some of the records that came out of the Southern California scene, back when I was in my early teens. So, when it came time to assemble the musicians to create an arrangement and cut this track, I made a conscious effort to maintain that vibe.”
