Arriving eight months after the release of her acclaimed sophomore album, “Útera,” Argentinian artist Kaleema (aka Heidi Lewandowski) returns, tapping collaborator and label-mate El Búho for an ethereal cumbia flip of “Invoco.” Reeling back the original’s bouncy tempo, El Búho (aka Robin Perkins) leans into the track’s Andean instrumentation and rich textures alongside classic Búho touches that take “Invoco” to late-night dancefloor territories. The remix is a fitting finale to an album that saw support from the likes of Remezcla, Brooklyn Vegan, Worldwide FM, and KEXP. The song is also included on the vinyl release of “Útera,” which arrives mid-November.

Snøw Faces His Issues Head On In New Lo-Fi Single “Another Lie” – Out Now
Salem artist Snøw masters the art of tough love towards himself in new single “Another Lie” out now via Amuse. Co-produced with Skinny Atlas, the slow-burning piece is weaved with lambent guitar chords and smooth, humming vocals that are attuned to his desire to accept his inner battles and weakness rather than masquerading them. “I don’t wanna speak another lie no / Tell me aren’t you tired of lying saying you fine huh?” he chants. Hopscotching between frustration and hope, the track exudes a laidback moodiness where Snøw prosaically breaks the self-saboteuristic pattern of denying one’s own reality. It was meant to be kind of satirical towards myself because I wanted to overcome all of my selfish thoughts and move past them. I spent so many years ignoring or denying the fact that I had played a part in friendships and relationships that had fallen apart. I wanted all of the pain I felt from losing people to just go away. While I was in California I realized that I really did play a part in those relationships I had lost. I was mad at first and wanted to deny it. With time I realized that I needed to forgive everyone. And that I needed to forgive myself. That’s where close to perfect came from. I was finally accepting who I was and who I was trying to become.”
