I’m stoked to share our video for “Circle” with you. It comes from a collection of songs formed during a tumultuous year of transition and self-discovery. Shaped by personal experience and real emotion, we have been reminded what it means to be human and why music matters.
A radical departure from instrumental approach the band has maintained for the past twenty years, Push marks SONS OF ALPHA CENTAURI’s first collaboration with musicians from two of the biggest and most respected bands in the Sacramento music community, as the act welcomes Jonah Matranga of Far and Gratitude and Mitch Wheeler of Will Haven.
YN Jay Shares “Triple S” Remix ft. Coi Leray, Announces Coochie Chronicles Project
An endlessly quotable emcee with a distinctive flow, Beecher, MI’s YN Jay is building a massive fanbase with his X-rated exploits. Preparing a new collection of stories about his favorite topic, Jay announces Coochie Chronicles, his next project. Dancing atop bass-heavy instrumentals from producers like his frequent collaborators ENRGY and Marc Boomin, the rapper known as the “Coochie Man” delivers clever punchlines through a toothy grin. The project represents an expansion of his vocal style, keeping the sing-song patter for which he’s known, but also experimenting with a variety of new flows. Featuring appearances from Coi Leray, Rio Da Yung OG, and his close friend Louie Ray, Coochie Chronicles arrives on June 30th via Alamo Records.
Emerging LA-based artist Hank May debuts “2019,” from forthcoming ‘One More Taste of the Good Stuff’ LP out Oct 15 via Dangerbird Records
“I felt like a stand-up comedian writing this song, standing in my practice space with a drink in one hand and a microphone in the other, just kinda riffing,” May says. “The final version came out slower and more serious sounding than my first demo, which was a quirky uptempo romp. When 2020 came around and changed the world, this song became an accidental time capsule of the so-called before times.”
DEAD HAND: The Obelisk Premieres “Muirgeilt” Live Video From Georgia Sludge Metal Act
While the album version of “Muirgeilt” was recorded with prior drummer Craig Harper, the live version of the track features his replacement Carson Pace. DEAD HAND’s founder Clifton Carr reveals of the new video performance, “It was recorded in mid-February at our rehearsal space at my house. This song had a different drummer on the recording. Although Carson is playing 90% of what Craig played on the recording, he steps it up in the end and puts his own stamp on it. It is what we wanted to do originally but Craig couldn’t play double bass that fast.”

The album is the follow-up to the critically lauded 2017 release Interiors. The Effens Release Sweet & Sinister New Single “Punishment”
The Effens’ upcoming EP, Eventually, draws inspiration from ’90s grunge sneer and early-aughts indie-rock cheek. Self-recorded and produced in a basement room-turned-studio, Eventually reveals a keen melodic sensibility and an insatiable urge to distort that sensibility to create something new. The EP represents a new level of depth and experimentation for a group that is relentless in its desire to present something novel made from that which is routine. Previous singles from the EP have been featured on editorial playlists on Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube Music.
HANNAH DASHER TO RELEASE THE HALF RECORD JULY 9
The project includes Dasher’s latest track “Left Right,” which Rolling Stone praised as “combining Miranda Lambert’s swagger, Duane Allman’s chops, and Tom Petty’s knack for a hook,” as well as her fan favorite single, “Girls Call The Shots.” Three additional songs, “Shoes,” “You’re Gonna Love Me,” and “Leave This Bar” fill out the release.
INDYA LOVE Releases Single “Good Morning” – (daughter of the Eurythmics Dave Stewart)
This was done in one take, with Indya singing and playing acoustic guitar, while her father, the Eurythmics’ Dave Stewart, added a little bit of electric guitar on it, and that’s it. This is the very first of everything for Indya: her first written and recorded track, her first-time self-producing, and creating her own music video. The first step toward following in her Father’s footsteps. It was recorded at Bay Street Studios in the Caribbean. The song is the first from a planned EP.

East Forest shares new single “Tabula Rasa” feat. Lorraine Weiss
East Forest has released “Tabula Rasa,” a new song from his forthcoming album Possible (out July 23). Like the album’s previous singles “Tabula Rasa” is built around the warm, welcoming tone of a 102-year-old Baldwin piano he restored after finding it discarded in a local second-hand shop, an experience that unlocked the album’s theme of finding hope in the capacity for healing and rebuilding. The song is rounded out by string arrangements performed by the Boise Philharmonic and a voiceover from spiritual leader Lorraine Weiss. It also follows the announcement that psychedelic-assisted therapy app Field Trip is hosting a new two-hour release from East Forest. IN: A Soundtrack for the Psychedelic Practitioner II is a spiritual sequel to his 2019 psilocybin soundtrack Music For Mushrooms, and arrives on the heels of his inclusion, alongside Erykah Badu, Grimes, and more, in a New York Times feature about musicians creating work for mindfulness apps.
THE GRASSHOPPER LIES HEAVY: No Echo Premieres “Charging Bull” Video
A Cult That Worships A God Of Death weaves post-hardcore, noise rock, and metal, mixed with a heroic dose of dark post-rock into a distinctly singular sonic tapestry. Boasting eight tracks, the record comes across like a two-headed beast; its first half, a scorching, riff-filled goliath that stomps and chugs with the fury of a cornered bull, while side-B bares the more prone side of the animal, with longer, more intricate, and introverted songwriting that allows its ideas to ruminate and evolve. Recorded during the 2020 lockdown, it’s a record that captures the chaos and tribulations of a year gone bad.
