Director Gianennio Salucci Takes Us For a Wild Ride on Riotron’s “Dark Highway”
Fresh off his his work on Zella Day’s “Only A Dream”, and Baker Grace’s “Bottle Of Wine”, director Gianennio Salucci returns with a wild and weird new music video for the Riotron retrowave cut, ‘Dark Highway’. Salucci teamed up with mega-producer Jennifer Goodridge (who’s worked with Melanie Martinez, George Ezra and Poppy) to turn ‘Dark Highway’ into a cinematically lush short film that has elements of horror, sci-fi, and even some hand-drawn animation sequences.
“Riotron and I wanted to explore the nature of being unable to escape your darker self,” Gianennio said in describing the video. Riotron artist Jeff Fettes added, “Dark Highway is a metaphor for all the bad decisions we make. You’re going too fast, you’re out of control but you don’t stop. And then suddenly you can’t stop.”

The song was co-produced by Take A Daytrip and Tay Keith, and marks Lil Nas X’s first offering from his forthcoming debut album. Nas has also premiered the song’s cinematic and over-the-top official music video today, which he co-directed with acclaimed director and creative Gibson Hazard. Set on Christmas Eve of the year 2220, the video follows Nas through his futuristic North Pole workshop where he takes on the role of four different characters. Buckle up and watch Lil Nas X ride across the US in his high-tech sleigh with robo-reindeer in tow. The video made its broadcast premiere today on MTV Live, MTVU and on the Viacom Times Square billboard.
Powfu Releases New Song “when the hospital was my home”
Speaking on the song, Powfu explains: “The movie inspired me to write a song from the perspective of someone living in a hospital. When I played it for my dad, he broke down and started crying when he heard the lyrics: ‘i dont wanna let go when we hug, one thing worse than dying is losing who you love’. I knew at that point that this was something special.”
Queer Pop Artist Pat Reilly Releases Debut EP ‘Prince of the Night’
Written and recorded during the pandemic, the ‘Prince of the Night’ EP is a time capsule of Reilly’s emotional landscape throughout this period of social isolation. Over the course of the 5-tracks, he examines the various relationships in his life — with himself, with others, and with his environment. The resulting record is a darker pop-electronica sound than the atmospheric R&B tracks Reilly has previously released, which can be attributed to the turbulent self-work he’s undertaken as an artist and human. “I’m taking my personal journey and smashing it against a darker side of me,” he says. “I’ve lived in a much more colorful place in the past because I had enough distraction to keep me there. ‘Prince of the Night’ is a release from all the pain I’ve been holding onto, that I wasn’t even conscious of prior, because I could distract myself with work, people, strangers, and my ambition.”
