Taleban Dooda is Cold Like Sub-Zero in “Finish Him” Single
With a honeyed tenor and a supernatural facility with melody, Taleban Dooda is tearing up the South with his emotional rhymes. Today, the Tampa-born teenager flexes his muscles in “Finish Him,” a cavernous new single. Produced by TM88 (Lil Uzi Vert’s “XO Tour Llif3”) and ATL Jacob (Future, Roddy Ricch), “Finish Him” provides a cinematic surround-sound background for Dooda to talk his smack, complete with thunderous 808s and twinkling synth bells. Weaving through the beat’s negative space with a bruised toughness, Dooda offers a stern warning who would stand in the way of his ability to provide for his family: “I know you aren’t my homie, cause you’d let me starve/Even though I always sin, I still repent to God/It took so long for me to win, I got so many scars/Until I picked up that pen, now I’m livin’ large.”

Cuando yo comencé me dieron la mano y ahora es mi deber enseñarle a ellos todo lo que he podido aprender con mis experiencias en la industria de la música”. Dijo J. Alvarez.
SAM LAPRO – t a k e m y h e a r t
“Take My Heart” is about feeling so deeply for someone but not knowing how to tell them and questioning whether they feel the same.
This is a page from my diary where I talked about falling in love but wasn’t sure how to express it in the moment.
Listen/Share – Guts Club’s meditation on the theme song from The L Word
“Song For Tina” is a meditation on the theme song for the sometimes problematic but beloved TV show, The L Word. Queer non-males everywhere lost their shit when the show first aired- we finally had our own show! But something really terrible happened on the show besides the (possible) death of Jenny or the show’s inability to properly portray trans people- it was that theme song. I literally never met a single person that thought that song was a good idea. If people bought the soundtrack it was for the Leonard Cohen and Sleater Kinney songs. We’re lucky now that we’re able to simply skip intro and even more lucky the reboot isn’t trying to resurrect the thing.
There’s just something strange about finally having your own show but completely being grossed out by it’s theme song. I tried to fix that. – Lindsey Baker/Guts Club
