Hailing from Tuscaloosa, Alabama the Dexateens have built an institution from their fiery brand of punk and roll. Since 1998, as one line-up or another, they’ve left jaws agape and arms akimbo as if some kind of inadvertent hypnotism has occurred. Their first two releases, a self-titled southern punk masterpiece lovingly known as “Headphones” and their sophomore effort Red Dust Rising both came out on the legendary Estrus Records label.
Del Paxton return with “September”
Driven by bold hooks and harmonic riffs, the Buffalo trio Del Paxton make heartfelt punchy emo reminiscent of the melodic sensibilities of the mid-90’s. Their latest are a set of singles teeming with the exuberance and excitement of being young, alive, and earnest. TRUTH Release Drum & Bass EP on Deep, Dark & Dangerous
Production outfit TRUTH are using their New Zealand heritage within their forthcoming EP on bass music imprint Deep, Dark & Dangerous, the platform they created which gives them full creative control over their output. Renowned for their precise production standards and their searing basslines, their ‘Without You’ EP presents a different flavour from the duo, although it’s still linked to the music which provides a soundtrack to the clubbing spaces of their roots. They’ve now exported this to California, where Andre now resides in LA, whilst they keep one foot in Christchurch, New Zealand through Tristan – and it provides an insight into the progression of TRUTH’s artistry. From Mala’s Deep Medi Musik, to the sounds on Deep, Dark & Dangerous, this drum & bass EP presents another turning point for the producers. Due to be released on July’s Bandcamp day, it also highlights one of the finest independent labels to come through in recent times.

British D&B stars The Prototypes tease more new music with ‘Enter The Warrior’ feat. B3ndu on vocals, the third offering from their upcoming album, ‘Ten Thousand Feet & Rising’ set for release on 23 October.
The new cut follows on the recently released singles ‘Oxygen’ feat. Kudu Blue, which was premiered by Danny Howard on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show before she named it her ‘Hottest Record’, while Mixmag called an “anthemic monster” in their review of the single and 90s Hardcore throwback cut ‘Shadows’ featuring Lily McKenzie’.
Jonathan Personne (of Montréal band Corridor) – Shares New Single & Announces Solo Record
Roberts drew a wealth of praise last year from Paste, The Line of Best Fit, Stereogum, DIY and more for the latest Corridor record, Junior – the band’s third full length but debut on the esteemed label, Sub Pop. Now he returns with his second solo record, Disparitions via Montreal indie label, Michel Records (Halo Maud, Alex Nicol), that draws on a similar wiry post-punk palette while fusing it with the sounds of 80s jangle-pop. This first track, ‘Springsteen’ is a real highlight for me with Jonathan exploring the idea of missing home whilst on tour, overlaying twelve-string guitar with sun-washed vocals leaving for something he terms as “spaghetti western rock”.

Back in early May, Ian Isiah announced his latest funk incarnation, AUNTIE. Today, he shares the project’s velvety, gospel and funk-infused single “Loose Truth”. Accompanying the single is a powerful visual directed by frequent collaborator Thuan Tran (@onlunchbreak). The visual features Ian taking us around a cast of Brooklyn’s essential workers, first responders, business owners, activists, artists, friends and family members. It also depicts the strength and tenacity found in the neighborhood’s community. In a moving finale, we hear them share their truth directly to the camera.

International recording artist, Carmen Pascucci, is giving us all a reason to dance this summer with her new tribal love song called “All The Way to Africa”. Carmen comes from a small city in Italy called Teggiano where she dreamed of becoming a pop star. Taught to follow the traditional way of life in Italy she studied Classical Vocal Performance at Giuseppe Martucci Conservatory in Salerno, Italy. Facing her own self-doubt she released her debut single “Roots”, which is now sitting at 18,000 streams on Spotify.
Detriment was recorded in Los Angeles by the band’s Sean Sakamoto and Christopher Dwyer, mixed by Christopher Dwyer, and mastered by Will Killingsworth at Dead Air Studios. The album is completed with photography by Katie Krulock and layout by Emma Maatman.

SIGNAL 13 FILM GHOSTLY VIDEO FOR ‘STAY WITH ME’
Baltimore rockers Signal 13 have recently completed filming a video for the song “Stay With Me” – one of the standout tracks from their recently-released EP, ‘Destination Unknown.’ The video (which will be released in mid-summer) was filmed in a Victorian mansion built in 1838 just outside of Gettysburg, PA – called the Lookout House. Directed and edited by Wade Spencer, the house is listed as one of the 10 most haunted homes in the United States – the property has many photos and relics from the past of people who lived and died in the home.
Entitled “Deep End” the track narrates connecting with someone on a deeper level beyond the shallow aspects, touching on unintentionally falling for someone, acting as an anthem for f– boys with feelings. “Deep End” incorporates a variety of aquatic sounds, emanating a blissfully, floaty feeling through rippling beats and tranquil melodies.

Alternative Rock Band The Nomadic Release New Single “Beyond Blue”
Australian guitarist and singer/songwriter Robert Gaylard brings a unique perspective and vision when it comes to creating music. His inspiration and passion for starting The Nomadic began early on as a child after traveling to many countries like Myanmar (formerly Burma), Singapore and the Solomon Islands. His “nomadic” lifestyle continued on into his adulthood when he began to work for the United Nations in various countries such as: Kenya, Somalia, the Sudan, Afghanistan, Indonesia, Israel and Palestine. His travels eventually brought him to New York in September of 2012 and motivated him to pursue his songwriting by establishing an indie rock band.
NEW RELEASE: Salt Cathedral’s “CAVIAR” Remix
Salt Cathedral have shared “CAVIAR Reimagined *in Isolation*”. Following the COVID-19 outbreak, the group’s tour in support of their just released debut album CARISMA was cancelled. They began to do complete reimaginings of the songs that reveal another facet of the compositions. They collaborated digitally with other musicians on these adventurous and introspective new arrangements. Salt Cathedral will release a completely reimagined version of the CARISMA album (Ultra) and have shared the first taste with “CAVIAR Reimagined *in Isolation* ”. The intimacy in the new arrangement has a volcano of emotions just on the edge of erupting as the serenity of the songs first half gives way to fractured rhythms.

Variations & Rarities: 2004-2019 Vol. II focuses heavily on the Self-Titled LP-era, giving all a previously-unseen and unheard glimpse behind the curtain at some of the early stages and ideas for songs that ultimately became the band’s most successful album to date. “Villa Del Refugio (Study)” is the earliest-known recording of the band conceptualizing the song and exploring its tonality. These particular chord progressions made it through to the end. “They Move On Tracks Of Never-Ending Light (Concept)” is a raw practice recording/run-through of the song with live drums, well before the song ultimately was smoothed out with electronic beats and full production. The feel at this point in gestation was almost a hybrid between “They Move…” and “The Mighty Rio Grande,” so it made sense to keep pushing “They Move…” into different territory sonically.
