We hold onto these feelings that are just self-destructive. The song is about letting go of the past or a toxic relationship/break-up. It’s about taking control and realizing that you are on your own journey and have the freedom to change”.

Aluna Steps Out Solo With New Single ‘Body Pump’
“Having enjoyed being the main ingredient to many successful dance records, I started wanting to create the whole dish. In the past when performing on the stages of my white male peers, I always felt like a visitor being one of the few Black women I could see, so it never fully occurred to me to claim dance music as my music, as an artist, even though it was at the heart of my connection to music.” Aluna admits. “Then I looked at the history of dance music and saw how, for example, Chicago House, known as the invention of house music, was pioneered in the Black and Latino LGTBQ+ communities which gave me inspiration to stake my flag in the ground as a Black woman in dance music by taking control of production and songwriting with my own vibe.”

Anna Leone | new single ‘Wondering’ out now (produced by Paul Butler)
Speaking about the new track, Anna says; “I’ve been going back and forth recently trying to decide whether I should start releasing new songs. My music is very much about isolation and being disconnected, and I’ve been kind of questioning if that‘s the energy I should put out into the world right now. I think ultimately though, the songs are about isolation but they’re also about healing, and I can only hope that that’s what people take away from them. I’ve been dealing with depression and anxiety for a long time and this album is sort of the culmination of all those feelings. I still can’t listen to it all the way through without crying, which is painful but also a good thing, I think. It feels cathartic.”

Todd Goldstein (ARMS / Harlem Shakes) returns as TG! Memory Foam
“I spent a lot of time in my late 20s and early 30s going to warehouse raves and underground techno parties, taking enthusiastic part in dance music culture — at the time I found it incredibly exciting, romantic, dangerous, artful. I wanted to make a track that evoked that time in my life: the woozy, zoned-out, loved-up feeling with more than a hint of menace. To me this track feels like the trance-like high point of the night when the early evening crowd has cleared out and only the heads are left, happily forgetting themselves for a moment.” TG
