Marco Benevento and his band—bassist Karina Rykman and drummer Dave ‘DB’ Butler—had their sold out two night run at Levon Helm Studios on March 27-28 postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In the spirit of lemons and lemonade, Benevento cracked open the multi-track recordings from last year’s show at Levon’s barn and spent the past several days mixing and mastering the 16-song, 100+ minute set.

With tours taking a major hit during the Covid-19 pandemic, the Greek metal veterans of ROTTING CHRIST have some good news! The band is still set to headline the Devastation on the Nation tour, which was originally scheduled to kick off today. While the tour has been postponed, we are pleased to announce that it has been rescheduled for early 2021!

Once & Future Band shared the story behind the single saying, “Andromeda is kind of a time traveling song, I first started writing it in 2004 when the band initially got together, struck by the line “will I wait this lonely lifetime” from I will by the Beatles…And felt like that seemed tragic, so I thought of a character who was willing but a little more bregrudging, like ok I’ll wait if I have to…we actually recorded the basics back during the last record at Phil Manley’s studio, I never liked the bridge so we just moved on, and when we went to record it for the new one In our practice space we just started replacing everything and we just kept the bass and drum tracks, from there I just constructed a new bridge from the old bass line and the song reached an angle of repose and just kind of fell together. Also if you listen closely to the quiet part you can hear me swatting a spider on my face, I missed.”

“The track is about losing momentum and feeling like your emotions will slowly destroy the relationship you’re in and you altogether. I think the dark, wonky sonics define who I am musically, which is why ‘Falling Asleep At The Wheel’ is such a milestone track for me, and has taught me so much about myself as a musician.
We created the video very close to my childhood home, which is where I also shot the video for Deep End. It’s completely out in the middle of nowhere, so thankfully no one noticed me floating along the road at 1am in the morning! It’s where I feel the most me and I love that so much is all coming from that one place.”
