Today, Douglas Dare is happy to share the video for latest single ‘The Joy In Sarah’s Eyes’, taken from his upcoming third album Milkteeth and released via Erased Tapes.
Drawing on a unique gift for writing songs that encapsulate and explore the innocence and simplicity of childhood, ‘The Joy In Sarah’s Eyes’ showcases Douglas’ honest and soul bearing reflection of his formative years. Of the video, Douglas states, “we filmed on Margate beach, a stone’s throw away from where the album was recorded. The open shoreline and cloudless blue sky provided us with a boundless space to play” adding, “It was important not only to express the childlike freedom but also the freedom to be feminine; in the beginning we see stiff and awkward poses tightly held in by a suit, then complete free expression celebrating queerness in a pink dress, that reminds me of one I wore constantly as a child.”
