Today, rising Sacramento R&B artist Victoria Monét drops new single and video for Ass Like That.
Produced by D’Mile (Rihanna, Janet Jackson, Diddy) and producer trio, BREGMA, the song continues Monét’s breakout year, following the release of her gold-certified duet with Ariana Grande, “MONOPOLY,” and gracing the cover of Billboard’s “The New Hitmakers” issue in June. The 70s-inspired lyric video features Monét flexing her muscles in a retro workout outfit. It’s flirtatious and self-empowering, a space that Monét not only inhabits frequently but owns and celebrates with her fans; a message of femininity and body positivity.
Speaking on the track “To me, ass like that is an empowering song. I had goals I wanted to accomplish in the gym. I wanted to be strong enough to talk about my own body the way do in rap. I reserve and deserve the right to talk about it without the world’s approval. They never asked for mine when they comment they never ask for ours”
