EMPIRE recording artists Cierra Ramirez and Trevor Jackson are heating up our screens (and ears) with their oh-so-steamy collab, “Broke Us”. The single and music video tells the story of a shattered relationship. It features sultry vocals from the pair, whose chemistry is, well, off the wall. The video perfectly encapsulates the passion and connection between two lovers who’ve been through it all. Will they stay together or head their separate ways? You’ll have to watch to see.
Fresh off the release of his Rough Drafts, Pt. II project, Trevor Jackson has turned around to lend a vocal assist on Cierra Ramirez’s new “Broke Us” single. The track is a regretful ode, reflecting on a broken relationship and arrives attached to a steamy new visual in which the two trade off on their lines, battling out the two sides of the story.
Best known for being triple threats, the multi-talented duo have taken over the screen and music industry. Cierra stars as Mariana Foster on both The Fosters and Good Trouble, and Trevor is best known as Aaron Jackson on Black-ish and Grown-ish. “It’s been an amazing experience for both of my worlds to collide. Trevor and I, both being on Freeform TV shows and being signed to the same label, EMPIRE, seemed like the perfect fit for a collab, and I couldn’t be happier. He’s so talented and he brings so much to ‘Broke Us’,” says Cierra.
Trevor added, “Cierra asked me to be a part of the record while I was finishing up my album, Rough Drafts Pt. 2 and what I liked most about it was that it wasn’t your traditional pop break-up song. It has a certain amount of honesty and pain that I know will touch the listeners!”
