Atlanta-based pop-rock sensation Cara Paige delivers a spiritually ambitious performance with her latest album, “Light. Hope. Faith.” The roots gospel record trades the quarter-life anxieties and youthful energy of her debut album “23” for an exploration of inherited trauma, resilience, and the decision to maintain faith when history offers plenty of reasons to lose it.
But that shift does not mean Paige has abandoned the directness of her earlier songwriting. She still retains her ability to write with emotional sincerity and to make personal frustrations feel conversational. But here, Paige redirects that instinct toward larger questions: why suffering persists, what faith looks like after hardship, and how the experiences of one family can become a call for greater compassion.
The album is closely connected to Paige’s Jewish identity and family history. Coming from a family that survived the Holocaust and left Poland behind, Paige attempts to approach faith from her own cultural perspective. Light. Hope. Faith. is religious music built around belief, but also around questions that belief cannot easily answer.
Among the opening tracks, “Bad Days With You” is one of the most uplifting and intimate numbers. Paige takes an optimistic view that everyday disappointments become insignificant when shared with someone you love. The album then switches up with “Snake Hunting,” a rootsy statement of resistance that criticizes the darker elements of society.

“We All Bleed Crimson Red” is the album’s clearest social statement. Built around the idea that race, religion, gender and sexuality cannot erase our common humanity, it expands the language of loving one’s neighbor into an inclusive anthem. The closing track “If God Had a Number” is arguably the album’s emotional and philosophical center. Written entirely by Paige after the collaborative sessions that produced the rest of the record, it imagines being able to call God directly and ask why good people suffer, why love and loss remain inseparable, and whether apparently senseless events belong to a larger plan.
Light. Hope. Faith. is Cara Paige’s most purposeful work so far. The record’s sincerity is both its greatest strength and its most obvious vulnerability as Paige rarely hides behind irony or abstraction. The listener must accept her earnestness on its own terms, and in our opinion, the willingness to take that risk establishes Paige as one of this generation’s brightest rising talents.
