Roses in December Turn Up the Heat on New Release ‘Inferno’

Rising punk-rock band Roses in December is set to ignite with their upcoming single ‘Inferno’, their most progressive track to date. The song morphs from a riff that has followed the band through countless gigs since 2015 into a fiery anthem, fueled by their signature blend of activism and raw sound. ‘Inferno’ is a wildfire of rage against a corrupt world.

“‘Inferno,’ our proggiest song to date, highlights our despair at the increasing likelihood of the world becoming a spherical flame pit either from global warming, war, or a nuclear holocaust,” says the band. “With world leaders/oligarchs snatching more and more power from the people via force or covert means.”

‘Inferno’ – Roses In December
Drawing on influences that span from Muse, Foo Fighters, and Nirvana to prog-metal titans like Opeth, ‘Inferno’ was born during a late-night rehearsal at Pulse Music Productions in Blyth. While jamming to ‘Eternal Rains Will Come’, the band stumbled upon a bar chord progression that evolved seamlessly into the song’s explosive chorus.

To complement the sonic ferocity, Viz comics cartoonist Lee Healey has created artwork depicting the twelve disciples of a gleefully wine-stained devil, raising glasses as flames engulf the backdrop. Together, the band’s sound and imagery serve as a rallying cry for a social movement against corruption.

Formerly known as Crux, Roses in December have earned support from Tom Robinson (Radio 6) and Nicky Roberts (BBC Introducing), while performing at Alt Festival (part of The Great Escape 2024) and A Stone’s Throw Festival 2024, as well as selling out venues across Newcastle. With their EP Divided and Conquered arriving on November 7th and a headline show at Three Tanners Bank on November 8th, Roses in December are poised to cement their place as one of the UK’s most uncompromising new punk acts.

‘Inferno’ is out now on all streaming platforms.
