RIVIT Present New Single ‘AWAY’
Wow I feel like I just woke up and it is the glorious late 90’s. I want to welcome you all to the new single by RIVIT called ‘Away.’ From the moment the track plays it comes on hard. The guitar and drums grabs you and does not let you go. You have no choice but to just let the music consume your ear buds. This band from Fraser, MI has got that sound that will eventually grab the masses.
So lets talk about the melody and how catchy it is. There is such a emphasis on the background instrumentals and that is a good thing. Early on in the song you are caught in the groove and the power of this track.
Then of course come the vocals. I feel like I am brought back to Pearl Jam and how it felt to hear Vedder for the first time. You realize maybe alternative music is still alive and well. I as a huge fan truly hope so. The vocals are full of passion and a desire to be heard.
The lyrical content is powerful. I cannot put my finger on exactly what the message is but I know the band does for sure and that allows the listener to come up with their own interpretation. You can tell that the lyrics are truly getting a powerful message out and this is something very important to the members of RIVIT. I love when he sings “I don’t want the world to have to pay, when the hero flies away.” That is so good.
Overall I love this song – it is edgy, catchy and most important carries a strong message. In the current state of the music industry I am excited that bands like RIVIT are bringing us back to alternative music with a 2024 twist. I can say I am a fan now and am very excited to hear what other songs these guys from MI release.
