Originally from Nigeria, I grew up on West African cuisine, which is rich in flavor and known for its spicy kick. This vibrant culinary heritage, marked by the nearly infinite combinations of spices, herbs, and peppers, cultivated my love for food. Inspired by my upbringing and a passion for grilling, I sought to create a seasoning blend that encapsulates the balanced heat and flavor of my favorite dishes from back home. This led to the creation of Naija Grille Spice Mix, designed to simplify cooking while delivering the authentic tastes of West Africa.
– What does your company SPECIALIZE IN?

– What are some of the biggest challenges you face as a company?
One of the biggest challenges we face as a company is standing out in the crowded, mature seasoning market dominated by many big players. However, Naija Grille distinguishes itself by offering a seasoning blend that not only delivers amazing flavor and the perfect amount of heat but is also low in sodium, catering to a large segment of the population that prioritizes health-conscious options.
Another significant challenge is securing access to capital, which is essential for scaling the business and taking advantage of cost savings through bulk purchasing.
– What would you change about your market, where do you feel you stand within your industry?
It would be to increase consumer awareness and appreciation for the diverse and rich flavors of West African cuisine. I believe that more people would embrace our Naija Grille Spice Mix if they were more familiar with the culinary traditions and dishes that inspired its creation. Within the industry, Naija Grille Spice Mix is positioned as a unique and innovative brand that brings authentic, health-conscious seasoning options to a broad audience, filling a niche that combines great taste with the right amount of kick in a low sodium option.

Yes, I’m inspired by other small businesses I follow on social media like Big Red’s Hot Sauce and Vicki Cakes that are doing great things in their respective industries. I admire their entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to crafting high-quality products that resonate with their customers. Seeing their success stories motivates me to continue innovating and striving for excellence with Naija Grille.
– What would you say your company’s biggest accomplishments to this date are?
One of our biggest accomplishments to date is growing our following on TikTok to an active community of over 20K followers. Additionally, we are proud to have received almost 1000 online reviews and ratings across multiple platforms, showcasing the positive reception of our Naija Grille Spice Mix among customers. These achievements highlight the strong engagement and satisfaction of our audience, which drives our continued growth and success.
– What is your company currently working on? What are your executives’ roles in part of your company mission?
I am currently focusing on increasing my current distribution channels by looking at potential regional grocery stores and working to partner with other small businesses to collaborate on creating products that incorporate Naija Grille Spice Mix. One exciting collaboration that recently occurred was with a local popcorn vendor to develop a new popcorn flavor featuring Naija Grille Spice Mix. This initiative not only expands our reach but also introduces our unique flavors to new audiences through innovative product offerings and help to drive Naija Grille’s growth and market presence.
