The Jared Stout Band strike again with their latest album called: “Heavy From the Sky”. The talented and innovative band based out of Southwestern, Virginia hit the world with this cheerful and well timed record. “Heavy From the Sky” feels and brings a nostalgic country like energy, yet it stays fresh and generates a soundscape of modern alternative rock ‘n roll. Somewhere in between Appalachian rhythms, bluesy undertones, and 70’s rock, the band’s second studio album manages to stay original, sentimental, unique and proves to create a southern touch of its own.
“Heavy From the Sky” not only delivers an energetic and electrifying alternative country sensation, but it also brings a satisfactory quantity of soulful original tracks. Stout’s compositions on this album are drenched with relatable songwriting and soaked in his powerful voice. The hard working, and talented musicians behind Stout show what they are made out of on this record as they implement and convey a strong emotional and dynamic performance like no other. Heroically and courageously, “Heavy From the Sky” not only tests but redefines the boundaries of country and rock. Creating a tapestry of spirit and liveliness, the band carries an energy that vibrates with their listeners above and beyond.
“Home Sweet Home” is the second track on “Heavy From The Sky” and it’s nothing short of a real banger. Musically reminiscent of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Sweet Home Alabama”, the track is full of optimism, pleasure, and confidence. The third track “Luck” is a soft, charming, and effective tune that will make the listener want to sit at a country bar and sip on some whisky on a lovely hot summer night. The introductory guitar is quite similar to Weezer’s “Island In The Sun” but speckled with a country lick. “That’s love, sometimes it fills you up, it gets me stuck,”
is one the most outstanding lyrics on this track. The fourth track on “Heavy From the Sky” is called: “Cost” and it’s almost as if The Jared Stout Band called in Richie Sambora or Jimmy Page to come in and lay down some painful but bluesy guitars on this bottomless tune. Jared Stout, Alex Gross, Matt Brassington, Robby Carden, and Jeremy Price deliver sounds of home through empathetic emotions of vulnerability, emancipation, and love.
The Jared Stout Band has rapidly solidified their presence and aura in the national music landscape. The band continues to build and sculpt their distinctive space in the country rock world. “Heavy From the Sky” stands as a true exemplification to their ability to intertwine musical effectiveness while sustaining their unique sound. The Jared Stout Band has consistently toured and has shared the stage with artists like: Infamous Stringdusters, 49 Winchester, 38 Special, Blues Traveler, Austin Meade, Little River Band, Joe Nichols, Dylan Scott, Michael Ray, Morgan Wade, Sister Hazel, Phil Vassar, Devin Dawson, Cascade Pope, and more. “Heavy From the Sky” is out now on all major platforms and it promises to be an attractive blend of country, rock, and blues for all music enthusiasts.
