WAKING STONE NEW SINGLE “SUBMERSION”

Waking Stone shocks the music world once again with the release of their latest single called: “Submersion”. The track is not only a perfect image of the band’s unusual gifts, but it is also a strong and solid statement to the alternative rock scene today. “Submersion” is an extraordinary track where the late 80’s and the early 90’s seem to meet somewhere in the middle of the ocean, submerging themselves underwater, and yet managing to stay perfectly modern. The talented and married couple behind the electrifying new band have been building a massive following around the world with their captivating and recent releases. The band’s latest track is unlike anything today as it stays original, emotional, nostalgic, unique, and proves to create a blend of different influences while staying true to itself.

“Submersion” is quite deep and the message that it delivers is full of mystery and symbolism. Not only does the track bring a huge amount of sentimental sounds, but it also transports very striking and formidable lyrics. Producer, guitarist, and vocalist Jim Cash sets incredible and reputable words on the table. “Standing at the water’s edge, a place I’ve been before but can’t recognize”, is just one of the most lyrically powerful moments in the dynamic musical arrangement. “Submersion” seems to talk about someone who has been constantly finding themselves in a stormy sea dream and is unable to escape the rising waves. In a sea of rage, surrounded by deep pain, unable to shout, never reaching the shore, and trying to run away, the sounds blend along with the vivid imagery.

“Submersion” cleverly and brilliantly brings electronic music and alternative rock together. The cavernous and profound synthesizers create an underwater sensation. Reminiscent of Puscifer’s 2012 album “Conditions of My Parole”, the electronic elements give the track an atmospheric and haunting feeling. Drummer Nik Hughes delivers an impressive performance that ultimately keeps the whole band quickly swimming and alive. Hughes’ style seems to be almost a perfect blend of Dave Krusen and Matt Cameron. Jim Cash’s bass performance fleshes out the track’s sound, gluing, and bringing the rising waves together. The bass lines find themselves sounding somewhere between Joy Division’s Peter Hook and Soda Stereo’s Zeta Bosio. The electric guitar plays such an important role in “Submersion”, as it doesn’t do too much but it does enough to help the track shine. The guitar takes intelligent breaks throughout the track, allowing the song to breathe, build, and ultimately hit the ocean with tremendous power. Eventually, Jim and Ashley Cash create breathtaking and astonishing vocals together that make “Submersion” special. It’s almost like hearing Sting and Dolores O’Riordan coming together and beautifully suffocating the listener under the sea.

“Submersion” solidifies Waking Stone as one of the most compelling, exhilarating, and contemporary bands in the alternative rock scene. The band’s talent to flawlessly fuse different musical influences while sustaining their unique sound is what sets them apart from the pack. “Submersion” is now available on all streaming platforms, empowering listeners and music lovers to submerge themselves in the enchanting ocean of Waking Stone.
