At only 19, Coventry based singer/songwriter Kanda has already caught the attention of the BBC, Channel 4, and MOBO, and now he is gearing up for the release of his latest single Unanswered Questions.
The single, set to release 10/02/24 alongside its accompanying music video, is sure to strike a nerve with anyone who has struggled to let go of a partner. On Unanswered Questions, Kanda laments a former love whose absence leaves him wanting nothing more than regressing into the past. Fans will recognise the artist’s signature powerful gravelly voice that swaps between smooth raps and guttural, emotive choruses.
Unanswered Questions’ video puts layers the track with beautiful visuals and stark contrasts. Cutting between Kanda’s present lonely nights and memories of time with his girlfriend, the absence of his love hits harder than ever. Directed by Dan Hart, the video incorporates drone work, visual effects, and lush vistas for an incredibly cinematic presentation.
Unanswered Questions follows on from Kanda’s single Latino Heat that saw him team up with worldwide sensation Panjabi MC. The single was a huge success for the independent artist, racking up over 200,000 streams across streaming platforms. Kanda also collaborated with the Suicide Prevention Charity CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) gaining over 50,000 streams and getting BBC 1Xtra features.
To date, Kanda has been named a BBC C&W Artist of the Month, BBC Asian Network Artist of the Week, been featured across BBC R6 and Amazing Radio, been chosen to perform at the 2021 MOBO Awards Press Launch, appeared on Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch, and reached the finals of the Open Mic UK 2020 Competition where he was asked to perform at the o2 Arena.
Unanswered Questions will be available across all platforms 10/02/24.
