The band comments: “This was the last song I wrote for the EP, and although I ‘borrowed’ the title from my favourite sci-fi author, the lyrics bear only a tangential resemblance to that work. Of all the songs on the EP, I think Dilation Sleep best represents Lightlorn’s dichotomy between light and dark, between heavy and atmospheric. I like to think of it as a black metal ballad, melancholy and wistful yet ultimately optimistic.”
