THE WATERS PROJECT Release New Video

THE WATERS PROJECT, the bluesy rock project of DAVID LEE WATERS has revealed their video for the track “It’s What You Do To Me” via Doomed and Stoned.

David comments:
The song “It’s What You Do To Me” explores the tension between what one may feel comfortable with when expressing ‘love’ for someone – and the secret passions that we might be afraid to admit to, accept or want to explore but are afraid to.

“Your kiss stings like a thousand words no one should hear” speaks to a struggle to hold onto our image of ourselves that we present in public, when its too late to contain our secret passions. The ‘fine line’ of intimacy has been crossed.

I wanted to present the contrasting worlds of the ballet dancer by day / exotic dancer by night leading her double life – the woman in the church, supposedly there to pray for heavenly salvation but her inner self is an exploding fantasy.

“You never know who you’ll meet behind closed doors.”

Kristine Leschper (FKA Mothers) shares new single “Picture Window” | New album out 4th March via ANTI- Records

The “Opening, Or Closing Of A Door” is a paean to the sensory world. It’s the first music Leschper has released under her given name, having retired the moniker Mothers after eight years of performing and releasing music under it. Though both projects are guided by Leschper’s idiosyncratic approach to songwriting, they couldn’t sound more different. While Mothers drew inspiration from the stark, skeletal sounds of post-punk and contemporary folk, Leschper’s new work is practically baroque, integrating an array of synthesizers, strings, woodwinds, and over a dozen percussive instruments.

KING HANNAH ANNOUNCE US TOUR + DROP VIDEO FOR FINAL SINGLE BEFORE DEBUT LP

Liverpool duo King Hannah has their debut LP I’m Not Sorry, I Was Just Being Me coming February 25 via City Slang, and today they’ve dropped the final single from it which was directed by Craig Whittle. “Big Big Baby” is a haunted mix of early PJ Harvey and vintage Mazzy Star. The 90’s-esque bass line came first, followed by the lines, “I can’t explain, you were a pain pain pain pain”, which Hannah sings with subtle yet undeniable confidence. Unsettling and wholly captivating and heavily influenced by noisy grunge bands from the 90’s, the aim was to make this track as raw and real as possible, reminiscent of the music King Hannah love the most. Rolling drums, one repetitive bass line and big, noisy guitars that drive harder and build tension, creating a growing sense of uneasiness as the song goes on, support the track’s revenge-full lyrics and simple, throaty vocal melody, that oozes 90’s female confidence and demure.

Will Joseph Cook Returns With New Single “4AM”

Of the new single, Cook adds: “Conceptually 4AM is this really overly poetic voicemail for someone you love. A rush of emotions you want to share but there’s no one up to hear them. I had initially written the verse as an acapella and then at home one night I built up the big instrumental chorus. It wasn’t until I was actually recording some new music in Mexico that the track fully came to life. I was literally wide awake at 4am sending voice notes and those feelings gave me the rest of the song. I recorded so many sounds of the city from my apartment window that night – they’re all buried under the instruments.”
