WILLIAM RYAN KEY defies expectations with cinematic new single “Brighton”

“I think this song is a manifestation of my desire to set myself free from the constraints of what I’ve created in the past,” says William Ryan Key about his latest single, “Brighton” which is released today, January 5, 2022 via Equal Vision Records. Taken from his third EP Everything Except Desire (release date: February 11, 2022), the airy and textural track pushes Key a little further left from his past duties as Yellowcard vocalist and rhythm guitarist. “I wondered if it was too far removed from the music people expect to hear from me,” he expresses. “The more I pondered it, the more I realized that it might be, and that it was ok if it was.”

Youth Sector share new single “Is Blood”

When Youth Sector first emerged with 2020’s debut EP Mundanity, they immediately marked themselves out as a band capable of pulling at life’s chaotic threads with an un-nerving dexterity. They employ a playful tension, often loaded with the threat of unpredictability that, in a flurry of newly-adopted funk and groove elements – and under the influence of art-rock greats of yore – comes spiraling to life in a carnival of leaping synths and ricocheting basslines that have a habit of exploding into lawless, free-wheeling, joyous abandon.

MOLOSSER – Barebones Sessions video/single #1 out today – SOLID GOLD

Swedish MOLOSSER are back with four singles during January 2022. The duo play their very own brand of alternative rock on two downtuned acoustic guitars and vocals, and the “Barebones Sessions” singles present radically rearranged versions of some of the most popular songs from MOLOSSER’s debut album Appear, released last spring. This time around the duo is going for a more direct approach than the album’s atmospheric soundscapes, and the recordings are made live, all in one take and straight into the microphones.

Produced by Grammy nominated producer Tom Dalgety (Pixies, Royal Blood) and recorded at Echo Zoo Studios in March 2020, the band’s latest offering epitomises their obsessions with true crime podcasts, stalkers, serial killers, and murderers.

“The intrigue and mystery of them, the fascination of the humans on the outskirts of society and the harm people can do, the weird romance and darkness of outsiders, the threat and fear that it could happen anytime; that obsession has spilled over into many of the songs on this album, especially this one.” explains Steven Ansell.

Artsick shares new single & video “Look Again” from debut LP, due on Slumberland on Jan. 21

Artsick was formed in June 2018 when Christina Riley was feeling “artsick” and writing songs, but missing the inspiration and excitement of collaborating with her old band, Burnt Palms. Christina played Mario Hernandez (Kids On A Crime Spree, Ciao Bella) a couple of demos and recognizing that “artsick” feeling, Mario offered to play drums and record some songs at his fully-analog Oakland recording studio. Christina’s bass idol, Donna McKean (Lunchbox, Hard Left), who loved the songs and jumped at the chance to help her friends with their “artsickness” and a band was born. The results were a terrific 2018 7″ single, which led to some epic pre-COVID shows and a whole batch of new songs.

Guy Blue Shares “No Vision” Single via Glide | Debut EP, ‘Arms Wide,’ Due June 3, 2022

In his first single “No Vision,” Ladd creates a character tormented by self-destructive urges, somewhere between Stephen Malkmus and Tony Soprano. This tension is reflected in the sonic texture, an incongruous patchwork of guitars, drums, and samples, haphazardly stitched together and fraying. Ghostly International’s Chester Raj Anand (aka Lord Raja) lends production, making this beat-driven track feel like the most fun panic attack you’ll ever have.
