Adele, Ed Sheeran, Dave dominate nominations for 2022 Brit Awards

Adele, Ed Sheeran, Dave, and Little Simz dominate nominations for the 2022 gender-neutral Brit Awards, with four nods each.

The Brits Awards had earlier scrapped male and female categories for solo and best international artists. The gendered categories have been replaced with gender-neutral categories: artist of the year and international artist of the year.

Nominations for the 2022 edition were announced on Dec 18 after an hour-long TV special, The Brits Are Coming, which aired on ITV and ITV Hub.

While male artists dominated the nominations, this year saw more female nominations, 18 in total. Two of the five spots for artist of the year was held by Adele and Little Simz, while Billie Eilish, Doja Cat, Olivia Rodrigo, and Taylor Swift were nominated in four of the five spots for international artist and many users from casino online were pleased.

Many of the Brit nominees are also nominated in similar categories for the 2022 Grammys. Billy Eilish’s Happier Than Ever, Doja Cat featuring SZA’s Kiss Me More, and Lil Nas X’s Montero (Call Me By Your Name) were nominated in the Grammy’s record and song are vying for international song of the year at the Brits.

The winners of the four new genre categories at the 2022 Brit Awards– rock/alternative act, hip hop/grime/rap act, dance act, pop/R&B act – will be determined by a public vote via TikTok, which will open on Jan 21 with https://www.cancasinos.ca/real-money-casinos supporting it.

British girl group Little Mix, recieved the most nominations for a group and South Korean boy group BTS, became the first Kpop act to receive two nominations in a row for International Group. The 2022 Brit Awards nominations also marks the first time in over a decade where it includes the biggest number of nominations being lead by women or female-fronted acts

Recall that in November, the Brit Awards announced that they would be removing gendered categories from all future ceremonies.

The event will be held on 8 February 2022 to recognize the best in British and international music. The ceremony will be the show’s first gender-neutral award show and will take place at the O2 Arena in London, and will be hosted by British comedian Mo Gilligan.
