City State Drops New Single ‘Dead Sun’
Following up on their latest comeback single ‘Into The Night’, modern metalcore outfit City State brings forward a new track–‘Dead Sun’, a plethora of masterful riffs with ambient and melodic elements. Lyrically, the song is about processing trauma, about how even routine things can seem wrong after you’re deeply harmed by someone, and how it can seem impossible to overcome.

Henrique Neves, better known through his alias, The Daily Spreadsheets, is a massive fan of early 90’s TV show ‘The Wonder Years’. Back in 2014, while playing around at home with his guitar, a melody quite similar to one of the show’s themes, Karla Bonoff’s ‘Wild Heart of the Young’ came to mind and Neves wrote down a sweet and mellow late 70’s inspired pop ballad.

CHALK PORTRAITS, the solo project of Metal Injection writer Greg Kennelty has released the song “In Flight”. The song is from the upcoming C Squared Underground Music Special which will be released on September 17th via C Squared Music.
Greg commented “In Flight’ is meant to evoke the feeling of going somewhere new, but somewhere that feels like home. I love how the song is bookended by these reverb-heavy passages, as if the listener was stationary and watching the plane go by. Plus, the heavily-delayed drums and synthwave-style bass (to me, at least) really drive home that feeling of being in motion. I’m extremely proud of this song and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it in its full context on my new album in 2022! For now, enjoy ‘In Flight’!”
