OUT TODAY: Debut Album from Brussels-Based, Audio-Visual Project, 22 for Silicon Alone Premiering on V13
Creator and central songwriter/composer/producer/director, Alexis Pfrimmer, was looking for a name to encapsulate this project, and he stumbled upon those four words ’22 for Silicon Alone’ on NASA’s official website; it was only fitting for the spacey and ethereal aesthetic of the music. Pfrimmer has collaborated with a number of artists on the experimental project, such as producer Floriane Desperier, as well as a number of violinists, saxophonists, pianists, and artists. After studying at two audiovisual schools, Pfrimmer was inspired by his background of music, film, and scriptwriting, to craft Only Dark Matters, which incorporates an eclectic and other-worldly ambience that is sure to transport listeners to a cinema-like experience with a dreamy landscape and a palette of textures and ambiences.
Metallic hardcore group Tooth and Claw released their debut full-length Dream of Ascension today via Good Fight Music. The relatively new group of veteran musicians formed just last year to delve into new avenues of aggression, while mixing hardcore and death metal. Their debut effort achieves that mission in spades, exploring the duality of human existence through a harsh sonic onslaught that is full of surprises. While the band stays on the attack throughout the nine tracks that make up Dream of Ascension, they set themselves apart with a haunting atmosphere, adding an unexpected but welcome layer to the dynamics found on the album.

Today, Jackson Browne released his new single “My Cleveland Heart,” available to stream/purchase worldwide. GOD IS AN ASTRONAUT Releases New Video “Barren Trees!”
More than three months after the release of the release of GOD IS AN ASTRONAUT’s critical acclaimed tenth studio album Ghost Tapes #10, the Irish four-piece presents a new official video for “Barren Trees”. The song is the most emotive and haunting song on the album and it’s also the only song that includes lyrics and vocals mixed as an instrument, so they blend in with the overall sound of the song. The Wandering Hearts had already enjoyed the phenomenal experience of recording their second album deep in the Catskills with producers Simone Felice and David Baron, but their adventure would be extended with another remarkable chapter. They met up with the legendary Marty Stuart (a five-time Grammy Award winner and a former member of Johnny Cash’s band) in Nashville, who offered them “Dreams,” a song he had written with his wife, the country star Connie Smith. They then headed to the iconic Cash Cabin in Hendersonville, where he joined the band, playing mandolin and guitar on the record. It was fortunate timing, as COVID-19 halted all international travel just a few days later.

SONS OF RAPHAEL DEBUT ALBUM OUT NOW
Sons of Raphael – the duo of brothers Loral and Ronnel Raphael – have today released their debut album Full-Throated Messianic Homage via Because Music (see: Christine and the Queens, Shygirl, Metronomy). It is an album seven years in the making, beginning its life in London before being mixed by the late audio legend Phillipe Zdar (Phoenix, Beastie Boys, Cat Power) at Motorbass in Paris – a transformative experience for both the brothers and the music itself. Full-Throated Messianic Homage is an album that teeters on the brink of mythology and madness, one that almost never came to fruition after the band bet the entire recording budget on a single game of basketball. The album is an endless futuristic wall of sound built on classical orchestral arrangements contrasted with fuzz machines and modular synthesizers. Beneath this inviting exterior is a debut which is a four-part hymn to life, death, sin, love and resurrection.
