With a massive chorus and linebacker-sized guitar riffs, “American Football” crams the energy of a stadium into a crunchy digital audio file.
In succinct lyrics, KITTEN uses the high-school-quarterback trope to comment on the shortcomings of society at large and examine how hard it is for people and ideas to get out from under the weight of “tradition”. Sons repeat their father’s mistakes. The system dictates the winners. In the euphoria of the mob singalong, we forget to stop and ask ourselves, “What happens when the music stops?”.

WODE: “Fire In The Hills” From UK Black/Death Metal Quartet Now Streaming
The follow-up to the highly praised Servants Of The Countercosmos, released by the legendary Avantgarde Music, WODE’s Burn In Many Mirrors presents the band’s most potently wild and predatory work yet. Simon Flory’s music is suffused with the elements of his childhood – days spent in the fields, church songs, gravel roads. How ‘FIT’ by two female Nigerian rappers is about to be the sexiest song on the internet
After the impromptu release of the duo’s remix to Saweetie’s ‘Tap In’, DEELA & Tblu have provided the song we needed to be on repeat this summer with ‘FIT’. The track sees the duo continue to flex that hypotonic, fiery delivery that made their previous collaboration worth listening to. It’s alluring, it’s audacious, and “it’s about women not being afraid to say exactly what we want and how we want,” DEELA explains. Contagious and confident, ‘FIT’ shows two Nigerian female rappers feeling provocative and owning it.
LAINE LONERO RELEASES NEW SINGLE “HOW FAR”
With relatable lyrics like you wouldn’t cross town to see me play, wouldn’t take your time to make me stay, but now you want me, “How Far” describes the feeling of never having the chance to love fully.
On Fame, Fortune, and Perfume, Bray shares, “For this project I really wanted to balance the intellectual side of music making with the side that is just meant to make you dance. I strive to make music to relax to and music to mourn to— my favorite parts of life are about balance and I want my music to reflect that theme. This EP represents a blending of all of my influences, both musical and emotional. I feel like it represents my human nature in a very honest way.”
OUT TODAY – ‘Wanted You To Know, Pt. I’ – New EP from Emily James
Reflecting on her newest song James shares, “When writing “don’t fall on me,” I really wanted to capture the emotional conflict of the song’s lyrics through the production. I felt it was important to express that simultaneity of vulnerability and apprehension.” She adds, “To me, the song feels like it’s forewarning a relationship that’s destined to end in heartbreak. I love that the song leans in a more rock direction, setting it apart from the other songs on the EP.”
The turbulent dynamics of “I Kill You” are fueled by heavy melodies, massive riffs, and a long night down the open road, driven to hypnotic new heights by lead singer Kevin McGuire’s mysterious, shamanic lyricism. “‘I Kill You’ is pure energy, raw and very addictive,” explains McGuire. “It’s the introduction to a journey beginning with the destruction of ego.” The track begs the question, how do you convince yourself that nothing matters? How do you sell yourself on the lies and the disinformation while life everywhere seems to devolve? The lyrics are the inner monologue of a human on edge, trying to convince himself not to step over the line, while his inner voice is clearly screaming “Do it.” The song was recorded at the famed Rancho De La Luna and Panoramic House with co-producer Peter Franco (Daft Punk), mixed by Dan Lerner (Daft Punk), and mastered at Capitol Records by Ian Sefchick.
“Cross Country” serves as a statement of purpose for BRELAND — a boundary-shattering singer/songwriter/producer praised by Rolling Stone for merging “elements of Country, Hip-Hop, R&B, Gospel, and Pop – in a way that many have not experienced before.” True to the double meaning of its title, the acoustic-guitar-laced track finds BRELAND reflecting on the action-packed journey to this point in his career – an adventure that’s taken him from New Jersey to Atlanta to Hollywood to his current home of Nashville – while boldly stating his refusal to conform to any genre or style. With a vocal delivery that’s both vulnerable and triumphant, BRELAND perfectly captures that sentiment in the soul-stirring chorus: “I won’t stop running/Till I find where I belong/I’m going cross country/Know they might judge me/I ain’t gotta prove them wrong.” The fresh track is written by BRELAND, Sam Sumser, Sean Small, and Will Gittens and produced by Sumser and Small (whose shared credits include Keith Urban, Jason Derulo, and Austin Mahone).
