aespa’s “Black Mamba” sets Record for Fastest Debut Music Video to Surpass 100 Million Views in the History of K-pop

SM Entertainment’s rookie girl group, aespa set a record with their debut song ‘Black Mamba,’ which became the fastest debut music video to surpass 100 million views in the history of K-pop.

The ‘Black Mamba’ music video, released on November 17th, 2020 6PM KST (1AM PT / 4AM ET), surpassed 100 million views in just 51 days and 12 hours on January 8th around 5:35AM KST (January 7th 12:35PM PT / 3:35PM ET), the fastest for any K-pop debut, re-emphasizing the world’s high level of interest in aespa.

Previously, the ‘Black Mamba’ music video had surpassed 21 million views on YouTube within 24 hours of its release, setting a record as the most-viewed debut K-pop video within the first 24 hours. At the time, the video also quickly rose to the No. 1 spot on YouTube’s top-trending videos and with their latest 100 million view record, aespa continues to showcase remarkable achievements.
