Thrill is an uplifting anthem written in response to wanting something you can’t have.
Sharing more on the track SK explained: “Thrill is the age-old tale of wanting something or in this case, someone, you can’t have. I wrote this song about a situation one of my girls was going through and I found her story so relatable because we’ve all been there or thereabouts at one time or another. It’s her asking the person in question to make their choice. I didn’t want this to be a sad story so it’s deliberately upbeat, to show that we’re all strong enough to ask the hard questions when we’re not getting what we deserve. ”
Over the past few years SK has been honing her craft and working tirelessly with her band, ‘The Kings’ to fine-tune her sound. The hard work has paid off and ‘Thrill’ comes as the first cut of her upcoming EP.
Born and raised in Luton Town, SK seamlessly blends the warm textures of soul, jazz and R&B. Brought up on her family’s vinyl collection, a melting pot of influences that has shaped SK’s innovative sound including; Prince, Kate Tempest, Cleo Sol, Hiatus Kaiyote, Donny Hathaway and Stevie Wonder. SK is the ever-evolving artist to get you through the winter.
