“Horizons Into Battlegrounds” is, in the words of Woodkid (a/k/a Yoann Lemoine), “a simple piano ballad which contrasts with the rest of the album’s sound. Molly Moore Releases New Singles “Careful” & “Identity Crisis”

The two tracks share a complimentary message which can be heard throughout Voice on the Internet about being addicted to social media and the idea that it is difficult to know if what you see online is real. Molly shares, “’Careful’ is about getting so lost in other people’s lives that you lose sight of your own. It’s a warning song to other people to learn from my mistakes and to not fall into the trap of thinking you need anything external to feel happy.” She continues, “At the same time, ‘Identity Crisis’ is about shedding the ideas that society has created for you about who you should be and embracing who you really are underneath it all. It’s about needing connection even when you’re hurting and still finding yourself and learning that your authentic self is always the one that will resonate most with other people.”

Public Memory releases new single “Midsummer Shadow”

Since 2016, Public Memory has been crafting lo-fi electronica from the darker corners of the psychic landscape. Gritty atmospherics, damaged synthesizers, and unearthly vocals blend with a mixture of electronic and organic percussion, creating a sense of forceful unease. This, when combined with the shadowy production and emotive singing of Robert Toher, creates a singular contrast between power and vulnerability.

Rwanda’s The Good Ones Share New Single “Soccer (Summer 1988)” via NPR Tiny Desk (Home) Concert, Watch Now

“Soccer (Summer 1988)” is a classic end-of-summer song— a tale of nostalgia for Rwanda’s favorite soccer team, Rayon Sports F.C., in the more innocent days before the 1994 genocide which claimed some of the team’s players and countless fans. It is a first-take without overdubs, recorded in bandleader Adrien Kazigira’s barn. At this particular meeting, Adrien and co-lead singer Janvier Havugimana played each song together for the first time. Yet, with only a minute or two discussion beforehand, they fell in so seamlessly that these virgin ventures were indistinguishable in ease from the stalwart songs they’d played for decades. Such it is with two gifted men that have harmonizing together since childhood.

I remember lots of faces and conversations and details, but there are certain moments that I remember so well I feel I have dipped my face into magical pools of mental teleportation and am living and breathing the moment all over again. The night I met the girl I wrote ‘Mansion’ about is like that,” Moore recalls. “From the moment that I met her I became more and more enthralled, drifting further and further down the avenue of enchantment—a street with no turns and no outlet.”

Teen Creeps Share New Track “Seeing Shapes”

New single from Steve Spiro (Talk Talk, Pet Shop Boys) out now

Frequent Traveller is today sharing ‘The Devil’s Trying To Break Us Down’, the latest single from the forthcoming ‘Real Life’ album which is due out November 6th and transports the listener around the world in 360-degree binaural sound (similar to the increasingly popular 8D audio, only more responsive to depth and height positioning). Utilising technology which enabled him to record sounds just as the human ear would have heard them at the time, electronic producer Steve Spiro (Pet Shop Boys, Talk Talk) spent the last couple of years travelling around the world capturing surround-sound field recordings of his encounters and began incorporating them into music. Indebted to laid-back West Coast hip-hop, ‘The Devil’s Trying To Break Us Down’, out today, is set in Los Angeles and offers a glimpse into the bizarre and tumultuous socio-political division that’s rife in America

Nathaniel Bellows (Sarah Kirkland Snider Collaborator) Drops “In The Wool”

“”In the Wool” explores–and plays with–the adage, “dyed in the wool,” which refers to a steadfastness in character, quality, or belief. I was interested in questioning this idea as it relates to the possibility of personal change–especially when change is imposed upon us, or arises as a measure of survival. I am interested in the question: Is the person we have always been the person that we are destined–or doomed–to always be?” – Nathaniel Bellows

Jack Name Debuts New Single/Video “Sacred Place” via The FADER

In a time rife with alienation, Magic Touch offers the comfort of contact. While the album is every bit as intricate as his previous releases, 2014’s Light Show and 2015’s Weird Moons, here Name has done away with the dense production of his earlier work to make a record that feels stark, personal, and effortlessly natural. With Magic Touch, Name—a fixture in the Los Angeles underground who’s also produced recordings for Cass McCombs, collaborated with Ariel Pink, and been covered by U.S. Girls and White Fence—brings his lyrical and conceptual focus away from the dream worlds of his first two albums and back to Earth. It’s a simpler place, or so it seems, where humans are falling in and out of love, struggling with loneliness, reaching for connections to each other, and, for better or worse, affecting each other. The almost subliminal story arc of Magic Touch reminds us that touch itself is magic.

LUKAS GRAHAM RELEASES OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO FOR “SHARE THAT LOVE” FEATURING G-EAZY

Lukas explains, “I grew up in a neighborhood where, if you had something you shared it. The place is called Christiania. It’s an old army base that got squatted in 1971. The community operates from the concept that nobody owns their house and that you can do what you want, as long as you don’t inhibit others from doing what they want. For all the upsides to living in Christiania, there was also trouble with the police, or issues with gangs in the city. I’ve tried to embody all of that in this song, and when I listen to it I’m reminded of some of the ways our community has really come together, like all the great parties we’ve thrown, or the huge protests where we’ve marched against the government threatening to evict us from Christiania. In these troubling times, I guess it is more important than ever to share what we have, especially your love.”

LITTLE MONARCH RETURN WITH “WRONG RIGHT”

Speaking on the release, they state:

This song is our Apocalypse Anthem of sorts. A glimmer of hope in the midst of an unusual LA summer, in the midst of an unusual year. A reminder that even though the city is burning, smiles are covered up, and some things feel so far away, that we still have time… Time to make the most of life. To change what is so clearly broken or leave it all behind. To feel whole in the spaces we so easily filled with outside forces. To know that we will get it wrong before we get it right.

MAX APOLLO: New single ‘Stop The Show’ out now

Zürich based solo artist MAX APOLLO just released his new single ‘Stop The Show’; a huge piano-driven pop rock tune, reminiscent of a modern version of Queen or The Rolling Stones.

Two years have passed since MAX APOLLO unleashed his debut album “In Absolute Silence” with a bang. It didn’t take long for MAX APOLLO to gain the attention of the media – songs like “Fever” and “A Million Drums” enjoyed a lot of airplay on Swiss radio stations and even made it into various commercials as well as the German Bundesliga as opening track for Borussia Mönchengladbach. The 23 year old artist – accompanied by his four-piece band – also knows how to convince his audience with his energy driven live shows and thus managed to sell out numerous gigs and scored support slots for Pete Doherty (X-TRA) or Hecht (tour support).

Max Apollo Rises To the Occasion With New Single “Pressure”

Psymon Spine share new single & video “Modmed”

If the story of Psymon Spine in 2020 began with “Milk” featuring Barrie Lindsay (Noah and Sabine’s former bandmate), it only makes sense to follow that with “Modmed,” a song inspired by Noah and Sabine’s decision to split with Barrie and focus their energy on Psymon Spine. The lyrics to Modmed channel the complex mix of frustration, doubt, and relief that surrounded their final days in Barrie.

Featuring production and writing contributions from their friend Andrew VanWyngarden of MGMT, “Modmed” is heavily disco-inspired, fusing those sounds with a left-field pop sensibility. “Psymon Spine invited me into the studio one winter’s day and we had a fun and funky time ripping Juno basslines and dialing in lush tones,” says VanWyngarden. “I like that their dj and record digging knowledge comes through distinctly on this track.” With squishy synth lines nodding to ABBA, drums that call to mind Tom Tom Club’s “Genius of Love,” and a bass line inspired by Larry Levan, the bands’ love for classic disco and house is on full display.

THE SLOW READERS CLUB – New track: ‘Two Minutes Hate’

“Lyrically it’s a song about the outpouring of hatred and vitriol on social media and me asking myself if I should engage with it. It is an acknowledgement that there is something in the human condition that craves an outlet to unleash our rage and social media provides that. ‘Two Minutes Hate’ (a reference to the daily ritual in George Orwell’s 1984 where party members gather to scream at images of enemies of the state).”

Acclaimed Non-Binary Indie/Dance Artist Torii Wolf Examines Emotional Quantum Entanglement With ‘Arrow Of Time’ via American Songwriter

“Quantum Entanglement occurs when two particles become inextricably linked, and whatever happens to one immediately affects the other, regardless of how far apart they are. Once we become connected, we will be unable to break away from one another no matter how near or far,” Wolf says of the song, a collaboration with Electronoir.

“Sometimes that connection can feel so strong, and it feels unclear to the human mind and emotional body as to why they are physically apart from the other, yet still feel one another so deeply,” they continue. “This can lead to negative self talk with inner dialogue to comfort themselves in knowing it all happens for a reason. Some reason.”

Gibberish enjoy surrounding their songs in textured, spacey blankets, while touting a core of rhythmic, lo-fi percussive sounds anchoring the wafty synths and sparkling guitars.

Faithless Town unveil new song and video, “What I’m Dreaming Of’, calling for love and unity

The song was written by Faithless Town frontman, Gene Owens. Inspired by classic songs of unity and peace such as John Lennon’s “Imagine”, Owens sought to write a modern day unity song. Owens’ says, “We are living in unprecedented times. Not only are we battling Covid-19 but we are also in the throes of a massive political division that is keeping us from working together or even seeing each other as a fellow human being worthy of love and respect. This song is about realizing that we have more in common than we think and underneath it all there is a bond of love and humanity that unites us.”
