At the beginning of May, as the pandemic raged through his hometown of New York, Ian Isiah revealed his latest creative incarnation: the AUNTIE project. The announcement was accompanied by a striking picture by Bronx-born photographer Renell Medrano, in which Ian recreates the famous image of Coretta Scott King at MLK’s funeral, sitting at a pew, their daughter in her arms. Indeed, moving into a new creative headspace from the salacious, digi-futuristic R&B of his breakthrough Shugga Sextape Vol. 1, AUNTIE sees Ian Isiah dig back to his formative years in gospel groups and Brooklyn’s Black storefront churches.
Logan Farmer Shares New Single/Video “No One Owes Us Anything,”
Logan Farmer has shared his new song/lyric video “No One Owes Us Anything,” the third and final advance single from his debut album, Still No Mother, out this Friday, August 21st via Western Vinyl. “Probably one of the more direct and climactic tracks on the album, ‘No One Owes Us Anything’ is about entitlement and the collective guilt we share for what we’ve done to each other and to the planet. I wrote it in a fit of bitterness late last year, so it’s interesting how relevant some of the lyrics feel as we dive into the uncertain second half of 2020,” explains Farmer.

I definitely wanted to emphasize this subject that I feel strongly about; our actions in many different aspects of life are detrimental to the continued thriving as a species in our own home. Also, that while it’ll revitalize itself when we’re gone, there IS a point of no return for us and we could approach it quicker than we realize. We continue to act in such ways while believing that catastrophes and the like won’t happen to us or in our lifetime and we prove over and over that they do. Therefore, if we continue down this path we will eventually watch it all crumble with lifeless eyes.”

Announcing: ‘Happy Place’ – Tendrils, from Will Mason
Happy Place is a NYC-based band of two singers, two guitarists, and two drummers, performing music composed by bandleader and drummer Will Mason.
Tendrils is the follow-up to their debut album Northfield, which was praised by Bandcamp Daily as “jittery, manic, and restless,” and by the New York Times for “succeed[ing] at fusing experimental rock and chamber music.”
Tendrils expands on themes from the first album: it is a tense and disquieting sound world marked by microtonally retuned guitars; skittering, irregular meters; and crystalline vocal lines.

“These videos were made by taking new instrumental interpretations of songs from Lighter and performing to them live,” says Donna Missal. “I made projections using footage captured throughout the process of creating Lighter and cast them over myself to be immersed in them. I recorded the performances live by capturing audio and visual at the same time, using a laptop camera and my recording set up, thrown about my bed or the floor.”

Italian band Geometry of Chaos is the new project from Fabio La Manna, mainly guitarist, bassist and writer of the music, and Davide Cardella, drummer and much more. The project is the fusion of his solo work and what remains of Alchemy Room band, in their last period with Davide on drums. La Manna is recording the first album for Geometry of Chaos, with Davide Cardella on drums as part of the band, and other guest members. It has a fresh new metal progressive sound with a lot of influences from classic rock and cinematic music.
