Josh Kelley Releases “Oh My She’s Fine”

Josh Kelley’s new single, “Oh My She’s Fine,” out today, is a product of current times: Kelley began writing the single on his own, and later, unintentionally, turned it into a family project.

“‘Oh My She’s Fine’ started with me creating an ‘island groove’ in my quarantine studio in the mountains of Utah,” Kelley says of the song. “After a break for family movie night, my kids wanted to sound like ‘Trolls World Tour.’ So, upstairs to the studio, we went! I put headphones on all three kids and they each took turns singing through an auto-tune plugin that made their voices sound like Guy Diamond. They loved it.”

The new animated video brings “Work” to life, tackling the angst and emotions of being stuck in a rut, the monotony of daily life juxtaposed with constant communication as technology is fused with all parts of life. As heard this summer in ESPN’s UFC promotions, “Work” has jumped into the Top 10 Active Rock songs at US radio charts, tying for the band’s fastest Top 10 hit yet.

Indie Folk Project Byland Drops Single and Reflects on Decade-Long Soul-Searching Journey via Audiofemme

Byland states, “Believe” is about my struggle with insecurity, and realizing how much weight I often put into the opinions of others. The line, “if you believe in me, maybe I won’t have to” is an expression of self-satire, written with the hope of causing listeners to pause and evaluate their own aptitude for self-doubt. It’s easy to hide behind other people’s opinions, talents and ideas, because then we don’t have to actually do the hard work of refining our skills, forming our own beliefs or trusting ourselves.”

Dawson Gamble – “Get Myself Over You”

It’s funny to me, the process of getting over somewhere. No matter what you’re doing during your day, there’s this one person who thoughts fall back to. It drove me crazy that no distraction was enough to stop thinking about her, even knowing in the back of my mind she’s not the one. Chasing her for the sole reason that she wasn’t into me.

CATHOLIC GUILT (Melbourne, AUS) Debut New Single/Music Video “A Boutique Affair”

Of the new single, vocalist Brenton Harris tells PopMatters, “The older we get, the harder it seems to be to make new friends, and the harder it seems to be to maintain older friendships. Neither phenomenon is necessarily anyone’s fault. It is likely a byproduct of aging, in that as careers, children, and other interests occupy our time, it becomes hard to keep in touch with old friends, especially those who are at a different stage of their life to you. While the lack of free time and avenues for social connection means it is less likely, we’ll find ways to make new friends.”
