Josh Kelley’s new single, “Oh My She’s Fine,” out today, is a product of current times: Kelley began writing the single on his own, and later, unintentionally, turned it into a family project.
“‘Oh My She’s Fine’ started with me creating an ‘island groove’ in my quarantine studio in the mountains of Utah,” Kelley says of the song. “After a break for family movie night, my kids wanted to sound like ‘Trolls World Tour.’ So, upstairs to the studio, we went! I put headphones on all three kids and they each took turns singing through an auto-tune plugin that made their voices sound like Guy Diamond. They loved it.”

The track arrived alongside “Let The Chaos Reign”, one of the heaviest songs the band has released yet, while “Work” counterbalanced it with driving guitars atop a grooving rhythm with electronic flourishes. The new animated video brings “Work” to life, tackling the angst and emotions of being stuck in a rut, the monotony of daily life juxtaposed with constant communication as technology is fused with all parts of life. As heard this summer in ESPN’s UFC promotions, “Work” has jumped into the Top 10 Active Rock songs at US radio charts, tying for the band’s fastest Top 10 hit yet.

Across 4 hard-hitting cuts, Bear Grillz conjures an array of thundering bass on his Ground Zero EP. Continuing his propensity for collaboration, Bear Grillz invites rapper Atarii to join him on several tracks, including the chaotic intro cut “Vision.”
“I’m pretty excited to have worked with up and comer Atarii throughout Ground Zero. Back in March, during the first lockdown, I got together with him and he made a few vocals for me and a couple pre-drop samples. I ended up using them all. One of my favorites is Vision, which is just a 128BPM smasher and he murdered the rap.” – Bear Grillz

Byland states, “Believe” is about my struggle with insecurity, and realizing how much weight I often put into the opinions of others. The line, “if you believe in me, maybe I won’t have to” is an expression of self-satire, written with the hope of causing listeners to pause and evaluate their own aptitude for self-doubt. It’s easy to hide behind other people’s opinions, talents and ideas, because then we don’t have to actually do the hard work of refining our skills, forming our own beliefs or trusting ourselves.”

Nashville based Ryan Miller emerged in 2019 with his evocative and electric debut single, “Would You Come.” A deeper introduction to Miller comes later in the summer of 2020 with the release of his newest song, “The Shape of Water.”
“The Shape of Water” is a pop / folk pop song about finding oneself in the face of demons. It’s about seeing beauty in the uncertainties we too often see as scary, and leaning on friends in our toughest times.
“We felt this song was the perfect track to kick open the doors and announce to the world that the band is back. Unfortunately as we began work on this recording the COVID pandemic started. The song took on a life of its own as we saw it as a battle cry for front line workers. “Get us the equipment and gear we need and Get Out of The Way and we’ll take care of business” says Trevor Hurst.
Dawson Gamble – “Get Myself Over You”
It’s funny to me, the process of getting over somewhere. No matter what you’re doing during your day, there’s this one person who thoughts fall back to. It drove me crazy that no distraction was enough to stop thinking about her, even knowing in the back of my mind she’s not the one. Chasing her for the sole reason that she wasn’t into me.

“I immediately fell in love with this song as even though there’s sadness, there’s hope. I remember turning up the volume in the car and listening to it with my mom and both of us crying and in that moment we knew if we felt this way, there are so many families that may need this message in the face of grief,” remarks Shepherd. “Finishing the song with ‘Keep looking up’ is a reminder that no matter what you are going through, remember there’s someone there by your side.”
CATHOLIC GUILT (Melbourne, AUS) Debut New Single/Music Video “A Boutique Affair”
Of the new single, vocalist Brenton Harris tells PopMatters, “The older we get, the harder it seems to be to make new friends, and the harder it seems to be to maintain older friendships. Neither phenomenon is necessarily anyone’s fault. It is likely a byproduct of aging, in that as careers, children, and other interests occupy our time, it becomes hard to keep in touch with old friends, especially those who are at a different stage of their life to you. While the lack of free time and avenues for social connection means it is less likely, we’ll find ways to make new friends.”
