Flawless Tha Don – ‘Trap Jumpin’ (Lyric Video)

Camille Delean’s ‘Cold House Burning’ is out this Friday

Camille Delean appeared on the Canadian music scene in 2017 with the release of her debut, Music On the Grey Mile. The album introduced the Montreal-based songwriter and vocalist’s work as a self-contained sound world: a distinct palette, stylistically timeless, full of place and character. Through live performances in Canada and Europe with her band—a rotating ensemble of Montreal, Hull and Toronto musicians—the three years since have seen Delean bend moody, evocative folk-rock further down a path of her own. That evolution is now captured in a follow-up LP, Cold House Burning, the hypnotic documenting of a spiral of solitude.

This type of woman is not fighting over a man, and she is not accepting less than respect from her love interest. Noah delivers this message loud and clear on behalf of the ladies. In the chune he sing-jays: “gyal yuh nuh stress ova man do day / yuh look good and yuh bills dem pay / yuh nuh stress ova man / gyal yuh have ambition / tell ah idiot bwoy fih run weh….”

ARTUSHA Defies Labels with New Single and Video, Available Today

“’Zero Label’ has to do with feeling boxed in by stereotypes and particular judgements,” explains guitarist/vocalist David Landers. “Individual mind frames should be celebrated, but many still look down on individuality. If you don’t feel exactly like they do or say exactly what they want you to say, then they look down on you. How are we supposed to grow as people? How do you even begin to have a conversation with someone who has placed you nice and neatly in a little box with a label.”

Existential Emptiness (CL) “Nevereinding Pain – Everlasting Sorrow” @ Death/Doom/Black Metal

EXISTENTIAL EMPTINESS was formed in March 2018 as a way to express our most personal tastes without getting stuck in a particular style. In it, we find innately aspects of old school death metal, traditional doom metal, and we try to rescue the unique atmosphere of black metal. In EXISTENTIAL EMPTINESS, members of other bands that have been on the national circuit for a longer time and carry more experience, the bands are FUNERALIS, PULVERIZED and LUXCAELIS. During 2018 we had a hermetic continuous creative process where we let everything flow, and which ended with a work called NEVERENDING PAIN – EVERLASTING SORROW.

After two years of absence, the reaction to Aqulio’s return with their recent singles ‘Sober’ and ‘Just Asking’ feels as if they’d never been away. The two songs quickly accumulated over 3 million streams, in the process elevating their monthly listeners at Spotify to 2.1 million. Musically, however, the duo – Tom Higham and Ben Fletcher – have clearly raised their game and earned renewed critical acclaim alongside resurgent devotion from fans.

‘Why?’ keeps the groove heavy but features acoustic instruments and keeps the upright piano at the heart of the track, transcending the soundscape beyond the samples-only approach dominating dance music today. Written “on a toy piano during a power cut, then recorded and pitched down for the final melody” it shows Model Man’s ability to deftly juxtapose the euphoric moments with melancholy throughout their creative production.

NEWS: Soul man Dan Penn’s new album ‘Living On Mercy’ due out Aug. 28th

There aren’t many musical heroes like Dan Penn. In songwriting circles his name is as good as gold, and often platinum. And when it comes to those who can give life to the human spirit in song, it sometimes feels like Penn is traveling in a party of one. His voice sounds like it comes from the strong Southern soil in Alabama where he was born and raised, and then deepened in Memphis and Muscle Shoals. It is a true fact that when Dan Penn sings one of his own songs, something happens that is beyond sound. A light is turned on inside his listeners, and the world takes on an added dimension.
