Following on from her previous singles ‘Reality’ and ’20 Cigarettes’, ‘Hi’ is a simple, cheesy love song and the ‘happiest’ track that Leslie has written to date. Writing the track came very easily to Leslie and it is about meeting someone for the first time who changes your life completely – but for the better. Combining personal lyrics with emotive guitar playing and swoon-worthy melodies, ‘Hi’ showcases Leslie’s chops as a talented singer/songwriter. It is a heartfelt track for anyone who has felt the sheer and simple joy of being in love.
Finlay Leslie is a Kent native who now lives in Dorset. Teaching herself to play guitar at the tender age of 11, Leslie performed her first gig aged just 13. Leslie’s love and passion for the acoustic guitar was inspired by artists such as P!nk, Taylor Swift and The X Factor‘s Lucy Spraggan.
Following the release of her previous singles, she opened for acts including Blair Dunlop, Heather Peace, Lucy Spraggan and winners of BBC2’s The Naked Choir, The Sons of Pitches. Leslie has also been featured in line-up of festivals such as Tramlines 2016, The Alternative Escape and Manchester Pride 2016.
