Abby K Brings Comfort With Beautiful New Single “It’s Okay (Not To Be Okay)”

It was a song written as Covid-19 was taking the USA by storm, but who would have thought that as time went on by, it would be even more relevant now than it was then?

Singer/songwriter Abby K’s new single “It’s Okay (Not To Be Okay)” is a comforting reminder that if you’re struggling to cope with everything going on in the world right now, you’re not alone. In fact, it’s perfectly understandable. Many of us are looking for positivity and light in a time of continued darkness, which grew much darker with the news of George Floyd being wrongfully murdered by Minneapolis police. Abby hopes this song will give us all a “giant ambient hug.”

Right from the intro of “It’s Okay (Not To Be Okay),” you can hear the acoustic guitar strum and the banjo play. It’s reminiscent of a simpler time, perhaps driving along the coast with the windows rolled down as you take in the smell of fresh cut summer grass. Perhaps it can even remind you of a previous decade with your younger, more innocent self, with hints of Alanis Morissette, R.E.M. and Sarah McLachlan.
