KID BLOOM RELEASES NEW SINGLE “WOUNDED/SURROUNDED”

Slick synths and sparse bass entwine with 808s on “Wounded/Surrounded” as Kid Bloom’s dynamic vocals echo above a glitchy beat. The track sets up a confessional ambience: “I get so lost in my devotion,” his voice rings out. “I designed some drums and made this vibe on my computer,” he recalls. “It became a very alive and moving piece of music. Out of that, I hopped on a shitty little mic and sang the whole song. It’s about how it’s never good to victimize yourself. There are times where you feel like all you can do is pull away and shut everything out. You’re having an internal conversation and separating yourself from judgment.”

Watch Libby Rodenbough’s (of Mipso) Official Video for “Colors”

Of “Colors,” Rodenbough says,” “I wrote this song so many years ago I can’t remember what I was thinking when it came out. But I still identify with the notion of fraudulence—who doesn’t? I guess I have always been big on clothes and shoes and broaches and bolo ties, and like any proclivity it has made me wonder what I’m compensating for. When I was younger and more awkward I felt I was going to have to develop some sleights of hand because I wasn’t exactly high-school hot and it seemed at the time like that was the pinnacle of achievement. I took note of the way people dressed themselves up, not just literally but with tics and quirks and music taste and all the rest, and I absorbed a lot of them into a kind of hodgepodge personality. Since then I’ve been working on relaxing but that comes with a kneejerk fear that, if you peel away those accumulated layers, you end up with not much.”

PSYCLO RELEASES “WATCH ME.”

“’Watch Me.’ is about possessiveness,” explains Psyclo. “I hate to hear stories about ‘I’m-yours-you’re-mine’ relationships.” On the surface, it sounds lovely but it’s actually scary. A relationship will grow dark once possessiveness seeps in. It’s a trap when you start thinking about if you’re equal in a relationship, then you start to judge what you do and what the other person does.”
