Chicago Jazz-Folk Ensemble Steve Dawson & Funeral Bonsai Wedding Release “However Long It Takes Video”

A quote from Steve: “However Long It Takes” is a song about choosing to see kindness and goodness in the world despite being fully aware of the darkness around us. It is a goal, a reminder, a chant, a hope. Here we all are – the entire world – held in a collective moment where we are forced to acknowledge the fragility of life and the things that actually matter: love, chosen family, health, truth, a safe home, art, music and the human spirit. Maybe this could be a wake up call that the pettiness, the twitter snark, the blaming and name-calling, the racism and hatred, all of that, is useless, wasted breath that only causes pain and more suffering. There is no more time for that. This song is my reminder. We are the broken frame. We are the constant storm. I will be filled with love, however long it takes.

I Break Horses Share New Track “The Prophet”

Of the track Maria Lindén says: “The misfit gets to be the prophet and preach to the faithful masses.”

If I Break Horses’ third album holds you in its grip like a great film, it’s no coincidence. Faced with making the follow-up to 2014’s plush Chiaroscuro, Horses’s Maria Lindén decided to take the time to make something different, with an emphasis on instrumental, cinematic music. As she watched a collection of favorite films on her computer (sound muted) and made her own soundtrack sketches, these sonic workouts gradually evolved into something more: “It wasn’t until I felt an urge to add vocals and lyrics,” says Lindén, “that I realized I was making a new I Break Horses album.”

Blandlord – Are you getting Hyper Drunk?

“Our new track, “Hyper Drunk,” is about control and excess – how easy it is to get caught in a loop. The wrong decision can trap you in a bad situation. This song is about coming to the realization that you can use all types of things, especially alcohol, for a myriad of purposes. The choice is yours.”

Perpetuals Announce Upcoming Single “Passive Witness,” Out 4/24

About the single, the band states: While recording in the studio a few months ago, someone reached out to us about writing and recording a song for a film about Earth Day: 50 Years in the making. We took on the challenge, and within 2 weeks, we wrote the song, recorded it, and started meeting with our producer to have it mixed. We were asked to not let it be a gentle celebration, but a focus on intensity. The lyrics and the bridge are two aspects we are most proud of in this song. Earth Day is an event that we all have experienced and enjoyed through our lives, but the message of Earth Day now seems to be so much more important to advocate for. In our own growth as artists we have come to cherish the inspiration that we draw from nature and additionally, figures like Greta Thunberg serve for further inspiration and we found ourselves with an opportunity to write not just another song, but write a song that speaks volumes. We hope the passion found in the writing of this song resonates with every listener.

Curren$y and Fendi P Bring Their Lyrics to Life with Stylish Animation in “Smokin’ Potnas”

With a well-known penchant for weed, women, and muscle cars, few people can rap about life’s finer things like Curren$y can. Tapping in with his close confidante Fendi P, the Jet Life artists share “Smokin’ Potnas,” a new animated video. Built around a creeping 808 bassline and noir-ish piano chords, TraumaTone’s “Smokin’ Potnas” instrumental evokes a streetwise version of the famous theme from The Pink Panther. Spitta and Fendi slink atop the beat to deliver crisp and stylish boasts about “chains holdin’ lucky charms” (Curren$y) and “money counters on the kitchen counter” (Fendi). Directed and animated by Shanna Salmon, the new video converts Spitta and Fendi into their cartoon altar egos, as they smoke up with models on a music video set as their lyrics come to life.

New Release from A is for Arrows “Go Slow”

“I like to think that on a very rare occasion, I can be the confident person that I envision in my head,” notes lead singer Alessia Balasbas.”Go Slow is that song for me. It’s the mirror image of the scared and insecure human looking back, it’s the self-assured, self- aware and fearless version of self. The one that doesn’t take no for an answer, the girl that will go up to anyone in anyplace and have a conversation. Not because they aren’t afraid, but because they stare their fears in the face and go right through. This song is meant to inspire and empower, I think of it as my own personal female anthem.” On a personal note of inspiration, she adds, “Meeting someone you’re meant to be with is exciting and scary at the same time. I had to jump. I had to throw caution to the wind and dive in head first. In my case, it worked out and I’m so happy I took that chance on this person.”
