Ethereal new single, “Flower” from Synne Sanden

The song is produced by Thomas Dybdahl, who also features on the song. FLOWER is an exposed yet modest song about feeling inferior compared to someone you admire. It places the listener in a position that is shaded by the shadow of someone they wish to be. The song was recorded and produced on rainy days in Stavanger, in the intimate and warm studio of Thomas Dybdahl. Through many years Synne has been the duet partner for Thomas, and they have, over the years, developed a close artistic connection. They brought their intimate understanding for vulnerability into the recording and production of the song.

Miranda Lambert continues her hot streak leading up to her new album Wildcard, releasing today “Way Too Pretty for Prison,” her spirited collaboration with Maren Morris.

“Karen Fairchild and I were having a wine night to talk about The Bandwagon Tour, and I always tell my friends, ‘Don’t leave if you’ve been drinking, because you’re way too pretty for prison,’ ” said Lambert. “She got a ride home at the end of the night, and the next day I had a write with The Love Junkies (Hillary Lindsey, Lori McKenna, Liz Rose). I was telling them about our night, and that conversation, and they said, ‘Well that’s what we’re writing today.’ I’m so glad Maren joined me on singing this song. She sang her ass off and it was so fun to have her in the studio.”

After releasing ‘Part 1: Past Perfect’ in May and achieving notable successes beyond the confines of their scene, they are ready to strike a new path. Where the first part was mainly influenced by the rawness of the Emo-/Post-Hardcore movement of the late 90s or early 2000s, part two offers a sound which moves away from the niche the band has been inhabiting so far. Now they are drawing inspiration from contemporary Indie and Pop music to complement their classic sound with new atmospheric elements.

The single is off of the upcoming album, Kentuckian, and is out for release August 26.

Fime share reverb soaked “Solo/Together”

We’re so excited to share with you the new song & video from LA’s Fime! The band channel a slew of 90’s influences to maximum effect, and it’s made all the more potent by the crisp production, courtesy of Melina Duterte. Recorded at the groups LA house (which they share with Duterte), “Solo/Together” is buoyed by call & response vocals and enveloping, reverb drenched guitars. The nostalgic verses move with almost doo-wop-esque romanticism that perfectly juxtaposes the triumpant euphoria of the song’s chorus.
