BATTLES ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM JUICE B CRYPTS COMING OCT 18

Battles are set to return October 18 with their fourth album Juice B Crypts via Warp Records. Following in the wake of its complex, mind-bending predecessors Mirrored, Gloss Drop, and La Di Da Di, the new full length is a sensory overload of information that throws everything you thought you knew about the storied art-rock supergroup into flux once again. The band’s redefined line-up of Ian Williams (keys, guitar, electronics) and John Stanier (drums) is at the core of the covertly named Juice B Crypts, which was produced and mixed by Chris Tabron (Trash Talk, Beyonce, Mobb Deep, Ratking). Marrying synthesizer loops, cut-throat drum patterns, and cyclical riffs, the album flirts with new technology, questions of authenticity, and the technicalities of reinventing the wheel at the eleventh hour.

WHY? surprise releases full visual album early; North American tour begins next week

Lina Tullgren’s Alien Encounter Video “Saiddone” Out Now

Gobillot explains: “There’s a hypnotic, and meditative quality to Lina’s ‘Saiddone’ that drew me in immediately. The song speaks indirectly to how we all try to reconcile emotions with rationality, and how that can be a self-alienating process. I wanted to show a character going through this experience using visuals that were uncanny, lighthearted, and vivid. I love sci-fi, especially when it’s lo-fi, and wanted to incorporate that aesthetic. Nicholas Roeg’s The Man Who Fell to Earth offered a fair amount of inspiration. Lina plays a similar character in this, someone who’s not quite human, and has a bad relationship with Earth. They want one thing, though maybe know they shouldn’t, and the audience is left to wonder how things will turn out.”

haunting dream-pop from Marina Elderton (aka UV) >> “Blind Deities”

UV is the solo project of London-based artist & award-winning composer Marina Elderton.

‘Blind Deities’ is the new track taken from the debut UV EP ‘Defender’, released alongside a sold out live launch at St. Pancras Old Church on 19th July 2019. Blind Deities weaves pitch bending analogue synths and an original space echo unit with layered vocals and pulsing rhythms, melting into a sun-drenched haze.

Kefaya + Elaha Soroor Share New Track “Charsi”

According to the collective “Charsi is typical of northern Afghan music, a style made famous by folk musician Mir Maftoon. A charsi is a weed smoker or ‘pot-head’. Women across the world are shamed or prevented from being able to drink, smoke and party. In this song, the woman invites the macho guy to calm down, have fun and have come together as equals.”

Dominic Sen shares lead single & announces their terrestrial debut album / October 18 on Roll Call Records

Lightyears clear of the cataclysm that spawned them, and the event horizon that almost unmade them, Dominic Sen, seventh and only surviving child of the supermassive black hole at the centre of “The Evil Eye Galaxy,” drifted around space in limbo ’til they intercepted the radio waves of broadcasts from 1980’s and 1990’s Earth. Depicting a colourful and thriving pop culture, these songs of our civilisation drew Sen to the Sun like a moth to our humble intergalactic flame, and thus Sen arrived and fell in love with the meretricious myth of Earthbound stardom.
