Introducing Sydney-born, NYC-raised, Lila Gold, who today shares new single and video for “Big Sad Eyes” off her forthcoming EP, HYPER-HEAVEN. Produced by grammy-nominated LA production duo DJDS and grammy-nominated John Hill, “Big Sad Eyes” is an infectious pop bubbler influenced by hip hop, dancehall, reggaeton, and electronic pop. Lila will also play an NYC set tonight at Elsewhere (Zone 1) supporting Salt Cathedral, tickets here.
The sci-fi inspired video, directed & designed by Natalie Falt (Billie Eilish, King Princess, Grimes), plays with the idea of transcendental science featuring Lila exploring different inner psyche dimensions via virtual reality.
“Lila’s vision is clear; she sings this sort of down-on-its-luck, intensely romantic pop-rock which looks at dirty, dark things — experiences, neighborhoods — through resolutely rose-tinted glasses.”
“infectiously pop-y musings on modern isolation…with a look that is equal parts coquette and streetwear”
