States & Capitals Will Release Debut Album ‘The Feelings LP’ August 2nd – On Tour Now
States & Capitals will release their debut album The Feelings LP on August 2nd via JIRNY. States & Capitals is a rock band hailing from Wyckoff, New Jersey, founded in 2015 by 22-year old frontman, singer/songwriter Richie Arthur (Richard Arthur Schaafsma.) He cites a melting pot of musical references from rock and pop including John Mayer, The Night Game, and All Time Low. Arthur has been creating and performing music since the tender age of 7, cutting his musical teeth at the renowned School of Rock in his home state of New Jersey:
“I started out with all the huge eighties turn up the gain type bands at first which really created the path to discovering my love for playing music. Once I developed to writing and really focusing on the artistry, I found myself falling in love with the songwriting side of music rather than specific genres or groups – anything Mayer touches, Martin Johnson, Alex Gaskarth, really paved the way to where i’m at now”
Skope video submission: LOAD B, “Heavy Bag”
“This song and video are about reconciling contradictions,” Crenshaw says. “We aim high but still have to navigate our environments.” Brink Of Distinction is set for a summer release.
The Coveteur x Nimic Revenue Is Going To Flood Your Playlists This Summer
It’s time to get familiar with Nimic Revenue, a 20-year-old rapper from Minnesota. Def Jam recently signed her in 2018, and she’s now prepping to drop her debut album, Lifeline, this summer. Revenue, while new to the Def Jam label, has been working on her craft for years, first performing alongside her brother at eight years old, and then saving up to buy studio time at 18. While it wasn’t always easy (more on that in a minute), Revenue tells us that once she began to really believe in herself and manifest her dream, her hard work began to pay off.
