The Sidekicks Share New Song “People’s Court”
Formed in Cleveland in 2006, The Sidekicks made their debut with 2007’s So Long, Soggy Dog and followed the album with 2009’s similarly punk-influenced Weight of Air. The band embodied a more melodic sound with 2012’s Awkward Breeds, and fully showcased their tightly honed pop sensibilities on Runners in the Nerved World. Produced by Phil Ek (The Black Angels, The Walkmen), Runners in the Nerved World drew praise from the likes of Pitchfork (who noted that the album “hearkens back to the widescreen indie rock of Built to Spill, the Shins, and Band of Horses”). The band’s latest release, Happiness Hours, was released in 2018 on Epitaph with much critical acclaim.
Chuck Cleaver (Wussy, Ass Ponys) has been writing and performing his thoughtful, idiosyncratic songs for over thirty years, developing a cult following of devoted fans across the United States, Europe and beyond. However, this summer’s upcoming Send Aid LP (on Shake It Records) marks his first recorded solo output.
Volbeat Return With 7th Studio Album, “Rewind, Replay, Rebound” Via Republic Records On August 2nd
Today, Volbeat, the multi-platinum, Danish rock band, confirm their return with their seventh album Rewind, Replay, Rebound, which will be released via Republic Records on August 2nd. For the album, Volbeat— Michael Poulsen (guitars/vocals), Rob Caggiano (guitars), Kaspar Boye Larsen (bass), and Jon Larsen (drums) —build upon their distinct, psychobilly, punk-tinged rock ‘n’ roll sound they are known for, while reaching for new creative summits. “The whole point for us going into the studio, is because you still have something to prove — not just for the fans, but mostly for yourself,” says Poulsen. “We would not be able to do this record if it wasn’t for the work we have done in the past. No matter how old the band gets or how many records we do, there is always going to be that signature sound.” Rewind, Replay, Rebound is available for pre-order on all formats here, including a 2 CD deluxe edition, a special deluxe edition box set, and transparent and blue colored vinyl, numbered and limited to 1,000 copies each.

River Tiber shares new single “Taurus”
River Tiber, the Toronto vocalist, producer, and multi-instrumentalist also known as Tommy Paxton-Beesley, has shared a new single “Taurus.” Arguably his most serene work yet, the song’s gentle acoustic strumming stretches out across a latticework of electronic textures as Paxton-Beesley’s hushed vocals ruminate on unconditional love. The song arrives on the heels of last year’s subdued but tension-laden single “Deep End,” both acting as mile markers on the road toward his sophomore full length, anticipated later this year.

SÓLSTAFIR comment: “Here it is, our 3rd video by the almighty Bowen Staines. After we did our last video with Bowen, ‘Lágnætti,’ we talked about for years to make another video together. As usual, adventures are like magnets when we join up forces, and this one was no different. We are super proud of the result, and yet again, Bowen shows that he is the master of this game. Enjoy, ‘Bláfjall.'”

“I wrote a lot on this project about the human condition of wanting somebody to share your life with. After a failed relationship Its ’s something I have craved and at times can lead to disappointment. This song is about longing for someone who isn’t right for you. Being okay with the regret just as long as you don’t have to spend another night alone. Just wanting someone to make you feel whole again. I’ve been the wrong person and I’ve also called the wrong one. I love the feel in this song because I managed to capture that feeling I had when I wrote it at 3am in my kitchen. These songs are designed to make people feel they are not alone in their search for happy. You are never really alone will be a common theme” – MIles Hardt
Bazerk – ‘Every Body Wants A Piece Of Me’
During a trip to Hanayashiki Park in Tokyo, Avery Brooks finally found a moniker for a collection of songs he had been working on in private. It was a small placard, glanced in passing, but the phrase stuck with him. ‘Lost Children’ spoke to his ongoing preoccupation with aging, mortality, and the anxieties of adulthood. Time has been a theme for Brooks since his first release, Our Fallen Cities, which was a soundtrack to visions of post-apocalyptic America, a score of love songs meant to accompany a dimly-lit futurist nostalgia.
