With Souns — the art driven ambient project by Vancouver-based producer Michael Red — he explores themes that are reflective of the natural world, the unseen world, outer space, and transcendence. Performances are largely intuitive and improvised, sometimes guided. The audio is an immersive world of deep sonic output, lucid introspection, and seemingly endless layers of sound. Typically there are no “drums” in Souns material, though there might be a detectable pulse. But with the upcoming release of ‘Sun Inside The Sun (Remixes)’ , out May 31st on Subtempo Records as follow up to 2017’s Aquamarine LP, Red has tapped a variety of boundary pushing artists who reinterpret and reconfigure the Souns ethos.

Across eight tracks, the artist brings innovative bass-heavy productions to the forefront, in a pure display of his unadulterated #MatrodaSound. Side A dropped last month on digital platforms to critical acclaim, with Earmilk calling all four tracks “Absolute dance-floor destroyers.”

Brighton-based Fujiya & Miyagi have been making expansive, experimental and multifaceted electronic-driven music for twenty years now. Their new album, Flashback, is to be released in May 2019 and it finds a group re-connecting with the potent music of their youth and connecting it with their well-learned musical chops as adults.

It took six long years to ATARAXIE to deliver the follow-up to 2013’s ultra massive “L’être et la nausée”. Six long years spent reinventing themselves when guitarist Sylvain ESTEVE (one of the founding members) left, replacing him with two new guitar players Hugo GASPAR (FATUM ELISUM, MALEMORT…) and Julian PAYAN (SORDIDE, VOID PARADIGM…), re-arranging their whole back-catalogue for this uncommon new line-up with three guitarists, touring Europe and writing new material.
