Bringing the magnificence of the 80s era and the chill party vibes of the 60s into the current contemporary pop scene is Fitzsimon and Brogan and their song Girl in a Gilded Cage. The plunky, upbeat electric guitar splashes me right into vivid memories of Footloose and Beach Blanket Bingo. The whole song is a dream, really. Brogan’s vocals are well-suited for the lyrics and the musical concept. The guitars and percussion really spin you around; there’s so much going on and you want to try and take it in all at the same time.
