As the son of a Baptist pastor and gospel singing music, LA-based frontman TOLLIVER certainly takes a lot of influence from his religious background when composing his music. Filled with a grand and broad sense of atmosphere, the alt-RnB artist almost looks to contradict his own strict childhood as he releases his debut EP ‘RITES’, a collection that pays homage to late-night parties and anonymous sex.

This morning (10/16), Tip “T.I.” Harris partnered with Billboard for the premiere of the official video for “The Weekend ft. Young Thug,” the latest single off his tenth studio album, Dime Trap (10/5). “The Weekend” was produced by Swizz Beatz and the video was directed by Kid Art.

Georgi Kay is a bit of a legend. She’s performed on a Grammy nominated single, been nominated and won a number of songwriting awards, and is scheduled to head out on tour with Peter, Bjorn & John. The first single for her new record, Where I Go To Disappear, premiered at Billboard, and we’ve got the video for her second single premiering at EARMILK. “Toxins” is a smoldering pop song, with a pulsing rhythm section, and glistening synths that recall Oneohtrix Point Never, backdropping Kay’s iconic vocal.

JIBE FRONTMAN INVOLVED IN MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT

Jibe, The Dallas Texas alt-rock band has been forced to cancel their upcoming tour dates with Candlebox due to a serious motorcycle accident involving the band’s frontman Joe Grah. Grah was struck head-on by a car, breaking his collarbone, left thumb, right hand, broken ribs and foot as well as suffering internal bleeding. Grah will be in multiple surgery’s next week and has weeks of recovery ahead of him making it impossible to do the four scheduled shows with Candlebox.

Think of someone or somewhere that brings you a feeling of ease, and excitement, and escape from whatever life is for you right now. Whether it’s the dog you had as a child, the secluded place you and your friends could go to be away from adults, the garage where you started your first band, your best friend on a desert camping trip…whatever takes you to that place where nothing else seems to exist or matter, that’s what I wanted to capture with “The Things We Left Below”. It could be a love song, or an ode to a special friendship. I started writing it on my ukulele sitting next to Echo Park Lake with my dog on a breezy day, which I suppose set the tone of the lyrics.
