SAVAK (mems. Obits, The Cops) announce new album; BrooklynVegan premieres single
Beg Your Pardon, SAVAK’s third release in as many years, follows a compelling progression from their past releases (2016’s Best Of Luck In Future Endeavors and 2017’s Cut-Ups) — equally the most punk rock and sublime record in their repertoire. The new album features everything from noisy careeners and ’80s hardcore nods to slightly glammy stompers and straight-up, New Zealand-inspired, guitar-pop songs (and that’s just in the first 10 minutes of side one).
Lando Chill “Peso (feat. Quelle Chris & REY)” | Plus Album Announcement
Lando Chill makes music which is classified as hip-hop, but isn’t tethered to a single genre; encompassing elements of funk, gospel, jazz, indie rock, psychedelic, and folk. Lance Washington was born and raised in Chicago, but moved to Arizona to attend college. His debut full-length For Mark, Your Son arrived on Mello Music Group in 2016. The album was an intense self-examination inspired by the loss of the rapper’s father, who died of a heart attack when Washington was four years old.
Eliza Shaddad announces details of debut album ‘Future’ & shares new single, ‘This Is My Cue’
Recorded in the same studio in remote Devon where she worked on her Run & Waters EPs with Mercury-nominated longtime collaborator Chris Bond, ‘This Is My Cue’ is a deeply candid and perversely rousing break-up song. Building from a stark and spacious opening to choruses drenched in brooding Warpaint-like atmospherics ‘This is My Cue’ examines that period of ambivalence and uncertainty in our relationships when passion cools to cold indifference. Described by Eliza as “Literally what’s going around inside my brain in most relationships… This song is about freedom and anguish and trying to find the strength of mind to end things.” Following ‘My Body’, it’s a firm indicator that Future will reflect not just where Eliza is at as an artist, but where she’s been as a person too.
